Today is Blue Monday, the third Monday of January, which is said to be the most depressing day of the year. However, did you know that the term was coined by UK travel company, Sky Travel, in 2005 in a marketing stunt? In recent years, rather than let their emotions be dictated by part of a sales pitch, many people have called for a change in narrative surrounding Blue Monday. Samaritans, for example, have launched a counter-campaign called Brew Monday, which encourages people to check in on their loved ones over a cuppa. In an effort to break the cycle around the most ‘depressing’ time of the year, we reflected on what’s been making us happy this January. We wrote down some of our favourite things and put them up around the office to remind us to keep smiling through the winter💃😄 What’s getting you through this January? Comment below to spread some positivity this #BlueMonday.
