The British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) fosters and monitors high quality educational and professional standards, so that the general public can be assured that graduates from BAAB accredited programmes are knowledgeable, reflective, competent and safe acupuncture practitioners. ⭐ The focus of the BAAB’s work is the accreditation of higher education level programmes leading to the highest professional qualification in traditional acupuncture in the UK. ☯ BAAB accredited courses offer a thorough grounding in Chinese medicine theory and clinical practice, together with western medical sciences, research and practice management, to provide an integrated understanding of both traditional eastern and modern western approaches to healthcare. 🎓 Students and graduates of BAAB accredited courses are eligible to join the British Acupuncture Council, the UK's leading governing body for traditional acupuncture. 📍There are currently six colleges dotted around the UK offering a minimum of three-years, full time, degree level 6 training. 💻 Visit our 'becoming an acupuncturist' page for more information about traditional acupuncture training. https://lnkd.in/eGGgAAQB

Since February 2013, the British Acupuncture Council’s register of highly qualified traditional acupuncturists has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. Acupuncturists on the BAcC’s register are able to display the Accredited Register quality mark, a sign that they belong to a register which meets the Professional Standards Authority’s robust standards. #MyQualityMark

The UK Conference of Chinese Medicine 2024 – a weekend of celebrations! Thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s UK Conference of Chinese Medicine 2024. This was a fantastic opportunity, and we had a lovely evening. Let’s hope the new government realises the importance of joining forces with British Acupuncture Council to support the NHS. By collaborating more closely, we can help alleviate some of the workload. The staff at the unit were lovely and have opened the door to future talks about collaboration and a referral system.

NEW FELLOWS OF THE BRITISH ACUPUNCTURE COUNCIL. Every year we put a call out for BAcC Members to be nominated for the award of Fellowship of the British Acupuncture Council (FBAcC). Fellows are practitioners who have been a Member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) for at least ten years, have done valuable work to raise the profile of acupuncture as a profession, and or have made a huge impact on the working lives of their peers in acupuncture and beyond. This week, the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ETCMA), launched their Future Leaders Think Tank initiative. The initiative offers a leadership and mentoring programme to members from all ETCMA membership organisations, who have a passion and desire to improve the TCM profession.
