We hosted another community cracker making day last week, supported by local businesses along with our team at the Business Design Centre, Angel Central, and sponsor Tishman Speyer. To combat loneliness and isolation, which particularly affects the borough's most vulnerable citizens, the community is uniting and has handcrafted the colourful Angel Crackers. You can buy these at the Business Design Centre as well as at other locations in Islington and 100% of the funds raised will support amazing local charities that provide vulnerable locals with help, joy and connections in partnership with Islington Giving. We were delighted to welcome the team from Hearst UK earlier this month, when Christmas came early to the Business Design Centre! Good Housekeeping LIVE with the Country Living Christmas Market took over the venue with their Christmas extravaganza, from Good Talks, Good Looks and Good Eating to numerous Christmas Market Stalls where guests shopped to their hearts content. Next month, One Day at Christmas is taking place across even more venues than before, with the hope that we can increase the number of people we can reach, providing a special day for those who really need it. You can volunteer to help at one of the venues around the country or from as little as £35 you can donate your support, which gives one guest a day to remember. Taking place on Friday 6th December, One Day at Christmas will be at the Business Design Centre, Excel London, Farnborough International, the The NEC, Birmingham, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, Coventry Building Society Arena, Manchester Central and the Royal Armouries Conference & Events in Leeds. HIX Event 2024 is returning on the 27th & 28th November, with this year's theme being, 'a sense of place'; examining the special relationship that exists between a hotel and its environment. It questions how owners, developers, operators, architects and investors can maximise the potential of a particular building or neighbourhood while creating enduring relationships with the local community. Happy Diwali! Yesterday, members of our team and resident businesses hosted an annual Diwali Lunch, celebrating the Hindu festival of lights. People from across the Business Design Centre community came together for a special feast made possible by Hemen, Rani, Ed, Hemal, Go Dharmic, Alexander Ash Consulting, Teamwork (UK) Ltd and Onward Display Limited. Thank you to all those involved in this wonderful event.

Last week we welcomed Islington Giving, Angel Islington, Angel Central and supporters from Tishman Speyer, alongside volunteers from across the Angel business community to assemble Christmas Crackers. Together we are fundraising in support of charities who help those facing isolation and loneliness this winter. You can now buy your crackers at venues across Angel Islington, with all proceeds going directly to Islington Giving, who support a wide range of projects and initiatives in our community.
