We're thrilled to announce that we won the National Recycling Award for Recycling Excellence in partnership with 8 Bishopsgate (Savills) and City & Essex Ltd at Materials Recycling World’s National Recycling Awards! This award recognises our commitment to sustainable waste management. We're proud to have achieved a 73% recycling rate at 8 Bishopsgate, surpassing the ESG goal of 65%. This was made possible through a variety of significant initiatives, including: • Engaging training sessions for stakeholders • Advanced recycling equipment • Reuse schemes • A beautifully designed recycling room with artwork by Curtis Creationz We're honoured to be recognised for our work in optimising recycling operations for our clients. Ever since it was founded, Bywaters and its owners have had a vision: to lead the UK into a sustainable future, whilst providing a high-quality service and minimising the impact on the environment. 20 years ago, John S Glover and Amanda Brown decided to take one step further and by going to meetings, attending conferences and visiting other sites they started the journey for Bywaters to achieve the ISO 14001, an internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems. The requirements of the ISO 14001 have changed through the years, with a huge revamping of the standard in 2015, but Bywaters has evolved with it, adjusting to the changes; this means constantly working according to the best practices and welcoming new technologies, being on top of existing, new and upcoming legislation, engaging with third parties to increase their involvement in the sustainable future and demonstrating Bywaters' commitment to the key value of these standards: continual improvement. And this continual improvement is what we want to celebrate today! On the 20th anniversary of the very first time we received that certification, we celebrate another great achievement: being once again recommended for the certification for another 3 years after passing the recertification audit with no non-conformities and compliments from the auditor! A massive thank you to the Bywaters team for making hard work always fun, and to all those who contributed to this big achievement, we couldn’t have done it without you. Oh, and additionally, this month we also passed the recertification audits for both the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and the Occupational Health and Safety System (ISO 45001), both with no non-conformities, marking 13 years of solid compliance in those areas as well. 750 donated clothes sorted and bagged in 1.5 hours (It’s a new record)! 🏆 We're delighted to have partaken in HandsOn London's Wrap Up London clothes sorting session alongside our volunteers from Surrey County Cricket Club, Imperial London Hotels, and NJC (Not Just Cleaning). This was their organisation’s personal record for most clothes sorted and bagged in a single session. These donations will make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most, spreading warmth and joy this holiday season. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for joining us. It is The Tree Council’s #NationalTreeWeek, we wanted to take a look back at the activities that we’ve undertaken during this year… From tree planting to maintaining their habitats, we wanted to thank HandsOn London for helping us in many of these initiatives. Turning Surplus Food into Community Smiles 😋 Not to be punny, but our volunteers really stewed up a storm with these spud-tacular meals and carrot-astic desserts (I’ll show myself out).  Through FEAST With Us, our session cooked up veggie stews with roasted potatoes (main) and carrot cakes with lemon drizzle (dessert). These meals are made from surplus food and redistributed to the ones most in need, simultaneously tackling food waste and social sustainability. We wanted to sincerely thank our volunteers from Pay.UK, Thomas More Square and The O2 for helping us out – You guys are amazing! 🧡 #FEASTWithUs #O2 #WeArePay #Bywaters

Congratulations to Leyton Orient Football Club on hosting your first carbon-free match in October! Bywaters helped the O’s achieve this feat through a few ways, including:  ⚡ Electric Vehicle Collections: Our electric vehicle created zero carbon emissions during collections, later sending their recycling to our solar-powered MRF. 🗑️ Zero Waste Direct to Landfill: No waste was sent to landfill, protecting our environment and disposing it as sustainably as possible. 🎓 Increased Engagement: We set up our waste awareness day stand to educate the community about correct recycling practices. We’re glad to work with the O’s, Orient-ing them to a greener future!  #Bywaters #LOFC #OneOrient
