With a combined experience of over 40 years in the architectural profession, company Directors Cross and Clayton have amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge in delivering large and small scale projects for a variety of high profile clients as well as for family run businesses. Yesterday our 73 bedroom care home in Towcester received unanimous approval at the West Northamptonshire Planning Committee, working with Peter Dowling of Halo Care - Healthcare Property Agents. Offering three floors of accommodation, the home was designed to follow a local design guide, heavily influenced by Georgian Architecture. Through a successful pre-application period with the Local Authority, we were able to refine the design making minor tweaks to enhance the layout and appearance. This resulted in a smooth planning process with no design changes, expertly navigated by Planning Consultants Planning and Design Group (UK) Ltd. The video below was shared by the Case Officer during the Committee meeting, where the members requested more videos like this for future applications to show the developments in their context. Thanks to BSP Consulting Ltd, DSA Environment + Design Ltd, NJP Consulting Engineers Ltd and all others for their work on this project.

We have recently submitted a detailed planning application for a rather pretty 72-bed care home in Davenham, Northwich. Possibly our favourite design to date, it reflects the character of a Cheshire Barn style, synonymous with the local area but with a contemporary touch. This thoughtfully designed facility aims to help address the increasing demand for high-quality elderly and dementia care within the community, ensuring that residents receive the support and care they deserve. Particular thanks to C Squared Architects Ltd for their skill bringing this to life. In addition to enhancing care options for local residents, this project is expected to create approximately 65 new jobs and benefit the local supply chain. We are committed to creating developments with thoughtful high-quality design and environments that will benefit the local area and of course the people that reside and work in them. Today we got to attend the opening ceremony of our latest finished care home in West Bridgford and experience the amazing work done by the team over the past few years. Thanks to Karen Whitehead for the invite, the kind words and the opportunity to work on one of the smallest but most challenging and rewarding sites we have had the pleasure of working on. Amazing project for C Squared Architects Ltd to have been involved in, looking forward to the official opening event next week.
Reimagining care home design on a 0.8-acre site was the challenge Karen Whitehead of Tanglewood Care Homes presented to Andrew Cross C Squared Architects Ltd. The result? A stunning 72-bed care home across five storeys, complete with a spectacular roof terrace the Trent Bridge Care Home West Bridgford. For me, the highlight is the incredible views of Trent Bridge cricket ground. My late father, a passionate cricket fan, would have loved watching a match from his room — an experience now possible thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows in every 20 sq m bedroom. The local heritage has been beautifully reflected in the interiors, thanks to Kerry Southern-Reason 💚 and the talented team at Care Home Interiors. The project was expertly delivered by John Currie Torsion Projects with funding provided by Andrea Auteri and the team at Elevation. With 18 beds per floor offering both residential and dementia care, this care home challenges traditional care home layout. It was a pleasure also to meet Daniel Rowark CEO, Sally Tebbett Care Home Manager and Amanda. Thank you for your time — wishing you every success with the home.

This site has been on the drawing board for a while but we are really pleased with how it has turned out. This multi-generational development is located in the heart of Congleton, adjacent to the train station and comprises of a 70 bedroom Care Home, 53 Retirement Living Apartments and 14 family sized Townhouses. The site layout includes a new multi-modal link connecting the community to the train station and local shops. We have created significant biodiversity enhancements through both public and private amenity space as well as off street parking, interspersed with landscaping to serve the development. The planning application was submitted on behalf of McGoff Group, McCarthy Stone and New Care. We are pleased to have secured planning permission to convert Walshaw Residential home in Bury into apartments. Following the building of a purpose built care home in the grounds, the existing home became surplus to requirements and was in need of a new purpose. We have recently submitted a planning application for a 73 bedroom care home in Towcester. This follows the recent approval of a care home in Newport Pagnell for our valued client. The 3 storey scheme forms part of the Local Centre in the new Persimmon Homes housing development opposite the racecourse. The design was influenced by the overall development design guide and followed consultation with the planning department.
