And just like that, we enter the final two weeks of 2024! ✨ As we celebrate another amazing year across the Cast Group we would like to thank everyone that has supported us throughout including lots of new clients, our amazing repeat business clients and our trusted supply chain who help us consistently deliver award winning workspaces. In recognition of the work put in this year we are closing the Cast office early for Christmas, to give everyone a well deserved extended break. 🎄 And so we are closing this Friday 20th December and are back open to smash 2025 on Thursday 2nd January! To help get us all into the Christmas spirit and in support of our chosen charity partner (The Sick Children's Trust), Cast held a joint ‘Christmas Jumper’ and ‘Christmas Cook-off’ event last week. Everyone who took part in this incredible mash-up was asked to make a small donation, which Cast would match. The total raised was an incredible £1060 !! Well done to everyone that took part and donated. We are proud to have aligned with The Sick Children’s Trust as our chosen charity partner for 2024/25. They are a charity that provide families with a seriously ill child in hospital, a warm and comfortable place to stay when they need it most. A home from home. The word biophilia originates from the Greek, 'philia' meaning 'love of'. It literally means a love of life or living things. 💚 Biophilia can add so much life to your office environment, especially at this time of year when things outside can look grey and lifeless. 🌿 At our recently completed 30,000 sqft project for Koba at 100 Barbirolli Square in Manchester, we created a living, breathing oasis 🤦 of a workspace by incorporating biophilic design elements throughout the space, creating a calming and refreshing atmosphere. By incorporating abundant plant life, maximising natural light and utilising natural materials, we created a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also enhances employee well-being, can reduce stress, improve cognitive function, and increase creativity. This stylish Cat B fit-out for Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) exemplifies our commitment to sustainable design. ♻️ A key focus was maximising the reuse and refurbishment of existing materials. This approach not only delivered a stunning workspace for LGIM, but also achieved significant embodied carbon savings. Thrilled to share our latest sustainable project with long-standing client British Land ♻️ We recently refreshed a large 16,700 sqft floorplate at L3 Broadwalk House, prioritising reuse and minimising our environmental impact, whilst also creating an amazing workspace. Retaining existing materials is one of our best opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint on projects delivered. At Broadwalk House we retained tea points, appliances, raised access flooring, ceiling tiles, furniture, doors and services. At the request of British Land we were able to procure and repurpose glazed partitioning by leveraging the Material Index platform, this resulted in an estimated embodied carbon saving of 0.714 tonnes CO2e. Overall, our efforts resulted in a significant reduction in embodied carbon across the project, estimated at an impressive 101.84 tonnes CO2e 💚 🌎 Let's continue to push the boundaries of sustainable design and reuse in construction! #ChangeCantWait 🌱 #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #EmbodiedCarbon #BritishLand #BroadwalkHouse
