We're delighted to announce that Cellhire was named the winner at last night's Broadcast Tech #InnovationAwards in the "Best Tech Innovation in Live Production" category! Our entry focused on our 'Count Cam' innovation, an IoT-driven solution developed in partnership with the BBC to bring unprecedented transparency to the 2024 UK General Election vote count. Powered by Cellhire’s IoT connectivity, the solution used specially adapted iPhones equipped with extended battery packs and multi-network IoT SIM cards. These SIM cards automatically connected the phones to the strongest available UK network, ensuring uninterrupted, real-time streaming from 369 vote-counting locations. The judges commended the simplicity and effectiveness of this IoT solution, which allowed the public to witness the vote-counting process firsthand, setting a new standard for transparency and accountability in election coverage.
