Charlton Athletic are pleased to confirm the appointment of Dave Huzzey as Individual Development Coach. James Brayne, who was promoted to Set Piece and First-Team Coach in August 2024, previously held the role, which bridges the gap between academy and first-team football. Huzzey joins the club following a five-and-a-half-year spell at Colchester United, where he held roles as Academy Manager, men’s first-team Assistant Manager and Academy to First-Team Transition Coach. Technical Director Andy Scott said: “We’re really pleased to bring Dave to the club. He’s a talented, young coach, who has a good reputation and who has been developing young players for a number of years. “We have one of the best academies in the country and the Individual Development Coach role allows our players to benefit from working with a very good coach on an individual basis. Dave will be responsible for delivering those programmes to players from U14s to first-team under the age of 21 to help prepare them for and improve key areas of their game for men’s first-team football. He’ll provide a vital link between the academy and men’s first-team, as well as leading on any loan players we have in the EFL or non-League.” Huzzey added: “I’m delighted to be here. It’s a massive club and it’s a real good opportunity for me to work with some really good players. “The talent goes all the way through this academy and it has done for years, so for me it will be about enhancing that and adding my touch on to it.”

The Valley's Sensory Room provides fans of all ages with a safe, secluded and entertaining environment to enjoy all of the matchday action. Located in one of the Alan Curbishley Stand boxes, the suite can hold up to 10 people (including carers) and can be booked on a match-by-match basis. The room is free of charge for the supporter with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with tickets for the carer priced at £20. Due to demand, the club cannot guarantee that the box will be available for your chosen fixture. To enquire about availability or for further information, please email fans@cafc.co.uk. After using the Sensory Room, Charlton fan Jed said: “The box was organised brilliantly with so much consideration for my son Louie’s autism spectrum disorder (ASD) needs. Taking him to any kind of sporting event is often difficult due to the length of time he has to sit still and the noise. The box gave us as a family the chance to enjoy the game without any anxiety and take breaks when needed. To be able to include Louie in this family day out at The Valley was amazing. My two children can’t wait to return for another game in the near future.” Click here to read more: https://lnkd.in/eTe8DKsC To sponsor the Sensory Room for the rest of the 2024/25 season, please email sales@cafc.co.uk.

As I approach my first anniversary at Charlton Athletic Football Club and my 40th birthday, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the journey so far. It’s been a year full of challenges and growth, both personally and professionally, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a historic, community-driven club. Charlton Athletic is special because of its people – from our hardworking staff to our passionate supporters, valued sponsors, hospitality guests, and the wider community who all contribute to the heartbeat of this club. Like any football club, we’ve faced our share of challenges, but I’m confident we’re moving in the right direction, both on and off the pitch. Over the past year, we’ve laid the foundation for some fantastic partnerships, and I’m looking forward to seeing these come to life in 2025. A huge thank you to all our sponsors and partners who continue to believe in and support the club. Your involvement not only helps the club grow but also strengthens our community connections. There’s still plenty to be done, but with the talented and committed team around me, I’m confident we can achieve great things together. On the pitch, we’ve built strong momentum following a positive Christmas period, setting us up well for a playoff push. On Saturday, we face Preston North End FC in the FA Cup third round – a huge fixture for the club. I’ll be cheering the team on from a pub in Tenerife, celebrating my 40th with friends. It’s my first proper break in 18 months, and I’m looking forward to recharging before getting back to work. Once I’m back, it’ll be all systems go. I’m gearing up for the London Marathon in April, running for Children with Cancer UK, a cause that means a great deal to me. With several 10k and half-marathons lined up in the coming months, I’m committed to getting my training back on track. If you’d like to support my marathon efforts, your contributions would mean the world to me and the families this charity helps - https://lnkd.in/egQN8rMj A special thanks to Charlie Methven, Tony Davison, Steve Sutherland, Lucy McNicholas, Callum King, Mungo Russell, Jason Morgan MBE, our incredible sponsors, hospitality guests, and the entire Charlton community for your unwavering support. Here’s to an exciting year ahead – both for Charlton and personally – as we aim for big achievements in 2025. #40AndThriving #OneYearAtCharlton #CharltonAthletic #FootballBusiness #LondonMarathon2025 #ChildrenWithCancerUK #ProudToBeCharlton #CommunityMatters #NewBeginnings #SportsBusiness #MilestoneMoments

Charlton Athletic are proud to announce a unique partnership with Cyberlabs to introduce the Cyberlabs Gaming Box, a state-of-the-art gaming and entertainment space located in the Alan Curbishley Stand at The Valley. This renovated box will enable matchday and non-matchday experiences, offering fans and visitors a unique blend of gaming and football. Sponsored by Cyberlabs, the Gaming Box will feature consoles, PC gaming desk set-ups provided by UNEVN, and immersive virtual reality (VR), alongside comfortable seating inside, allocated seats in the stand, fridges, and more. Guests will have hot and cold food and beverage options to choose from too, making it perfect for group outings, birthday parties, corporate away days, and special occasions. Designed for multi-purpose use, including Esports, streaming, podcasts, and more, it will serve as an exciting addition to the club’s matchday offering. It will also support non-matchday usage for fans, brands, Esports teams, creators, and media. Furthermore, the Gaming Box will enhance the club’s own media and marketing capabilities while supporting the Charlton Athletic Community Trust in driving impactful social initiatives. Ed Kim, Abdiqani Ahmed and Sam Cooke, the founders of Cyberlabs, have brought both their passion and expertise to this project. As a lifelong Charlton fan and former board member of Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust (CAST), Cooke expressed his excitement for the collaboration: "Even if I wasn’t a fan, this partnership would be something special. It’s an honour to sponsor Charlton Athletic and be able to work closely with the club. "We’re confident this initiative will provide the club another way to deliver for partners, diversify revenue, bring Charlton closer to more fans, strengthen our digital presence, and give fans the option of a different experience at The Valley. The Community Trust already does incredible work, and we believe this space can help to amplify their efforts too." Cyberlabs, based in London, is focused on advancing digital entertainment within education, sports, community, and leisure venues globally. Cyberlabs will design, fit and kit out the space and help the club to operate it too. This isn’t Cyberlabs’ first experience with the club, having sponsored Charlton Athletic Women’s FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur in February 2024. Barry Higson, Head of Commercial at Charlton Athletic, commented: "We are delighted to be working with Cyberlabs to bring this innovative Gaming Box to The Valley. It’s an exciting addition that offers tremendous benefits to our fans and community, aligning perfectly with Charlton’s commitment to enhancing the supporter experience both on and off matchdays. We’re confident this partnership will create new opportunities for fan engagement and community impact.”

✨ Three Wins on the Bounce! ✨ Yesterday’s match against Wycombe Wanderers Football Club showed the true grit and determination of Charlton Athletic Football Club. With Wycombe flying high at the top of the table, this was no easy challenge—but in my opinion, it was our best performance of the season. From being first to every ball to showcasing first-class work rate, the team delivered an incredible display. That’s three wins on the bounce, and it sets us up perfectly to make a strong challenge for a playoff spot as we move into spring. I want to take a moment to thank our match sponsors, RSK Group, and our ball sponsors, the University of Greenwich, for their support. It’s partnerships like these that help drive the club forward, on and off the pitch. Looking ahead, we’ve got Crawley Town Football Club on New Year’s Day and Reading Football Club back at the Valley next Saturday. If we can secure another two wins, we’ll be right back in the mix for the new year. To our amazing sponsors, partners, fans, and associates—thank you for your continued support, which makes moments like this possible. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and an exciting start to 2025. #CharltonAthletic #Teamwork #Momentum #PlayoffPush #CAFCFamily Mungo Russell Steve Sutherland Callum King Lucy McNicholas Tony Davison
