Well done to Choice Housing and Choice Services combined team winning the Equality Cup. The team took part in the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland Equality Cup on #InternationalMensDay. A strong performance saw them through to the final, and lifting the cup at the end of the day. ⚽ 🏆  

Its been almost 15 years since we installed our first solar PV panels at new housing developments in Belfast and Bangor. We now have around 430 solar PV systems, which generated 475,000kWh of renewable electricity in 2023/24. The 3rd phase handover is approaching 🙌🏻 another 16 properties will be tenanted by the end of November with the remaining completing in the new year.

Energy Efficient Homes On 1st April 2024 we launched our ‘Choice Group Strategy to 2027’, which sets out the framework we will follow over the next three years as we strive to deliver high quality, demand focused, social and affordable housing. One of our strategic priorities is to provide Great Homes, which includes both new build and high quality existing homes.   Developing New Energy Efficient Homes For over a decade Choice have built homes to higher energy standards, exceeding current requirements. This has included building homes to meet the international ‘Passive House’ standard and also developing homes to various levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes. We continue to work closely with our design teams and contractors to ensure that our new homes are energy efficient, sustainable and meet the needs of our tenants.   More here- https://lnkd.in/eq2W47wT

We welcome today's announcement regarding the allocation of a further £24m to the social housing development programme budget by the NI Executive in the autumn monitoring allocation #socialhousing https://lnkd.in/ep9vgP28

Speaking on BBC NI Newsline this evening welcoming the additional £24m for new build #socialhousing in todays budget reallocation by The Executive Office. It's a step in the right direction but we need to go further. To tackle the growing waiting list of over 47,000, we need to be building at least 2,000 new social homes annually & ensure infrastructure such as NI Water is in place to facilitate. We keep going.
