  • In 2024, we’ve been inspired by the incredible champions of skills who make a real difference every day, and we’ve had the privilege of recognising those that go above and beyond. 👏 Our prestigious Princess Royal Training Awards recognise employers who excel in training and skills development. Supported by our President, HRH The Princess Royal- a passionate advocate for skills development- these awards set a high standard. 👑 In 2024, 52 recipients achieved the Princess Royal Training Awards standard of excellence. The Ampersand Awards celebrate our City & Guilds staff who consistently embody our values and bring our purpose to life. 🏆 This year, we received 142 nominations, which we narrowed down to 41 individuals and 14 teams. The winners will be revealed at our ceremony in January—stay tuned! Launched in 2024, the City & Guilds Membership Awards recognise tutors and trainers making a real difference in education and training. 🙌 Our inaugural class of recipients consisted of 15 exceptional individuals.    Do you know someone outstanding? • 🎥 Inspiring achievements driven by skills. We recently interviewed four incredible individuals who shared their inspiring learning journeys and advice for anyone considering learning a new skill. A huge thank you to Amanda Troake, Dr Mark Richards FCGI, Meelad Sabari, and Nina Bilbey for their valuable insights! 💬 Amanda Troake: "You can't put a price on knowledge or where it can take you. Upskilling is worth it—it’s an eye-opener and inspires others. Definitely do it!" 💬 Dr Mark Richards: "In an ever-changing world, the one thing you need to be is versatile. Think of learning as adding to what you already have, not swapping one thing for another." 💬 Meelad Sabari: "Training in accountancy gave me valuable insights I could apply to real-world problems and in the workplace. It’s been life-changing." 💬 Nina Bilbey: "No matter your age, if you have a dream career, there’s a way to make it happen. Be brave and take the risk—you won’t regret it!" Whether you're just starting out or considering a career change, skills undoubtedly have the power to change lives positively. We'd love to hear your learning journey and how acquiring new skills has helped you achieve your goals. • This year’s Princess Royal Training Awards ceremony took place at Goldsmiths’ Hall, home of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths’. 🏛️ One of the founders of City & Guilds back in 1878 and one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London Corporation, The Goldsmiths' Company goes back almost 700 years! At Goldsmiths, one of the key activities is hallmarking: protecting consumers for more than 700 years by guaranteeing the purity of precious metals. This includes the Trial of the Pyx, where coinage submitted by The Royal Mint is tested to ensure coins are within the statutory limits for metallic composition, weight and size. 💰 Goldsmiths also support the development of craft skills at the The Goldsmiths' Centre, continuing to offer apprenticeships and supporting jewellers and silversmiths. After all, it was the Livery companies who oversaw apprenticeships for over 600 years! Thank you to The Goldsmiths' Company for hosting this year’s ceremony! What other craft traditions or skills interest you the most? Let us know in the comments below! 👇 #CityAndGuilds #Goldsmiths #LiveryCompanies #PrincessRoyalTrainingAwards #Skills
