Today, we've been celebrating our newly refurbished community hub and café at Crookfur House on our Hugh Fraser Retirement Estate in Glasgow. The new community hub for older people and the local community is now home to brand new facilities and a café, which will cater for more than 1,000 local people a year and provide more support for those most at risk of isolation and with long-term health needs. The spaces will offer a range of activities for the residents and community to enjoy. Last night our Managing Director, Gordon Cunningham attended the Glasgow Caledonian University School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment’s Annual Celebration! We have a long standing relationship with Glasgow Caledonian University with 15 of our employees currently completing graduate apprenticeships at the university.

On Saturday 5 of our employees completed a 5k parkrun in Pollok Park! The group completed this as part of our weekly fitness group which was set up through our Healthy Working Lives initiative.

Today we are looking at our refurbishment and extension of St Mary’s Primary School to form a new gym hall and entrance area for Inverclyde Council. Today we held a CPD seminar on NEC4 for our operational and commercial teams across the business! We are committed to the learning and development of our employees with an average of 7.9 training days per employee delivered last year!

York developer launches Edinburgh student scheme “This latest development in Canongate will create more much-needed student accommodation in the heart of one of Europe’s top university cities, opposite the Holyrood Campus of The University of Edinburgh and within easy reach of lots of other key university facilities.” York-based property developer S Harrison Developments Ltd is set to begin construction on a new multi-million-pound student accommodation scheme in Edinburgh’s historic Canongate area, just behind the Royal Mile. The 76-studio purpose-built student accommodation will incorporate retained architectural elements from the site’s original buildings. The Construction Index Ltd: Clark Contracts begins construction on a brand-new, five-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in the historic surroundings of Canongate, Edinburgh. This is the second of two forward-funded schemes to be delivered by S Harrison Developments Ltd in collaboration with Singapore’s Q Investment Partners. The development comprises 76 studio rooms, along with amenity spaces such as study rooms, a multimedia room, a gym, and cycle storage. Set for completion in September 2026, in time for the new academic year, the project features a design that contributes to preserving the character and appearance of Edinburgh’s Old Town Conservation Area. “This second collaboration with S Harrison in Edinburgh, represents another important milestone in our commitment to growing our vertically integrated UK PBSA platform.
