Our efficient, comprehensive service ensures that your fume cupboard and fume extract projects progress smoothly from design and manufacture through to installation and commissioning, with full communication every step of the way. We are committed to quality, safety, and “right first time” for every project, as well as to continuous product improvement. Our highly skilled team of technical designers uses 3D CAD (SolidWorks Professional) and provides BIM-compatible drawings. Designed, assembled, and tested at our Bolton facility in Greater Manchester, our fume cupboards meet the rigorous BS EN 14175 and CLEAPSS G9 standards. Sustainability is at the heart of our mission. As the only fume cupboard company in the world with advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capability, Clean Air has pioneered an innovative type-testing method that eliminates the need for sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆), a damaging greenhouse gas. This approach has allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint year-on-year since 2017 while supporting a growing turnover. Our CFD programme also enables us to optimise our fume cupboards’ containment, keeping lab operators safe and protected. In recognition of our efforts, Clean Air won the Best Sustainable Innovation Award at Lab Innovations 2024. Our commitment to sustainability, alongside our comprehensive aftercare packages and tailored fume cupboard solutions, ensures our clients’ systems operate safely, remain compliant with all relevant standards, and align with the future of responsible innovation.

  • Well, we'd be daft not to repost this great photo with a very beautiful fume cupboard as the backdrop! We love working with The University of Sheffield and Royce at the University of Sheffield! Check out the case study on the fume cupboards we supplied for the Royce Discovery Centre http://bit.ly/RoyceSheff Innovate UK is another of our favourites - we enjoyed their support for a KTP project which has seen us develop the world's first net-zero fume cupboard testing method! We've saved around 177 tonnes of CO2e this year – and that’s just at Clean Air! Imagine that multiplied across the world…If you want to know more speak to our friendly team, or check out the Innovation section of the Clean Air website. #LabSafety #FumeCupboards #Sustainability #NetZero #Decarbonise #CFD

  • An interesting paper from Siemens about our use of CFD. It allows us to eliminate SF6 - a damaging greenhouse gas - from the fume cupboard design and testing processes. In addition, we can optimise containment, protecting lab operators from fumes, gases, aerosols and vapours. Sustainability and safety - win-win! #LabSafety #FumeCupboard #containment #sustainability #CFD

  • At this year’s Lab Innovations Clean Air has ditched the pens and stress balls in favour of a much greener giveaway! For every visitor to our stand (D50), we'll plant a UK sapling in local woodlands on your behalf – and send you a certificate telling you where it’s located and what species it is. As finalists for the Lab Innovations Sustainable Innovation Award, in what is a very strong field this year, Clean Air is proud to showcase the latest advances in sustainable technology. Since 2017, we’ve reduced our carbon footprint annually, even as our turnover has grown, and have invested heavily in developing a new, groundbreaking net-zero type-testing method for fume cupboards. This innovative approach involves using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). It eliminates the need for harmful greenhouse gases while ensuring optimal containment. Come and meet the team on Stand D50, find out how we can help you achieve your sustainability goals - and plant a tree with CFD! #LabSafety #LabInnovations #Sustainability #FumeCupboards #CFD #PlantATree
