Connecting Energy Talent 🌎 North America | United Kingdom | Middle East 🚗🔌⚡🌍🍃🛢 ☀️🔋

As Clean Energy Talent 🌏 steps into its fifth year in business, 2024 brought some of our toughest moments—but also our biggest breakthroughs. Louise and I have faced it all together: refining our process, enhancing our tech stack, and committing to personal development to deliver the best possible experience for clients and candidates. Yet, one recurring theme from conversations with our mentors stood out: we weren’t focusing enough on our personal brand or connecting with our audience very well online. And they were right. 🪙 The Penny Drop Moment It suddenly struck me this year that every major decision we made to invest time and money into improving our business—whether through technology, processes, or training—started with trusting the face of the business behind it. Would we have improved our client and candidate experience by partnering with Odro if it weren’t for the late, great Ryan McCabe? 💙 His passion for humanising connections through video technology resonated so deeply that we built it into the very core of how we work. Would we have adopted SourceWhale without the presence of Dougie Loan? 🌟 Or levelled-up our Engaged Search methodology without the reassuring guidance of Louise Archer & Jordan Taylor at Retrained Search? What about the strategic direction we’re currently gaining from Ben Browning at Resonant? Or the transformational advice in our approach from Josh Braun at Braun Training? Each decision we’ve made as a consumer was shaped by an initial connection with the people behind the business. Their expertise, authenticity, and openness gave us the confidence to trust them with a critical role in elevating our own business—so why weren’t we doing the same? If I’m honest, Louise and I have both been avoiding this for a long time. Neither of us is particularly comfortable putting ourselves 'out there'. God knows how many times we’ve rolled our eyes at the endless stream of self-aggrandising posts on LinkedIn. 🙄 But I always come back to some of the best advice my Gran ever gave me: “whatever anyone else thinks about you is none of your business” and “get over yourself—you’re not that important.” (You can always count on a straight-talking Scottish Granny to humble you in under three seconds. 😂) Other inspiring voices on LinkedIn that continue to encourage us are those of Sean Anderson at Hoxo and David Wolstenholme at BrandMeBetter. Their messaging reminds me that human connection is at the heart of everything, and with the rise of AI and automation, it seems people are craving authenticity more than ever. So.... stepping into the digital spotlight is a new challenge for us. 😂 Rest assured, even if we don’t get this part right, we will ALWAYS deliver when it comes to supporting your business with critical hires and scaling your teams. 🌟 A new website and more exciting changes to come in 2025— and we can't bloody wait. Wishing a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!🎄 #PersonalGrowth #CET2025

  • 🔋 Innovative Energy Storage Projects Drive U.S. Clean Energy Forward ⚡ Here’s early December's roundup of key developments in energy storage and renewable power projects in the U.S.: 1️⃣ Eos Energy Enterprises secures $303.5M DOE Loan Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. Enterprises has finalized a $303.5 million DOE loan under the Title 17 Clean Energy Financing Program. This will support their zinc-hybrid battery manufacturing initiative, Project AMAZE, aiming for an 8GWh production capacity by 2027. 2️⃣ UBS Integrates AI for Battery Optimization UBS Asset Management selected Avathon AI to optimize its 730MW/1,049MWh battery storage portfolio in Texas’ ERCOT market. AI technology will enhance predictive analytics, compliance management, and operational profitability. 3️⃣ Solar-Storage Hybrid Powers Arkansas Steel Mill Hybar, a startup building a mini steel mill in the Arkansas city of Osceola, is the off-taker for a 105MW solar PV installation paired with a 160MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) spanning 500 acres adjacent to the rebar plant. The project is being developed by Green & Clean Power (GCP). GCP said on 3 December that it has raised around US$300 million debt and equity financing for the project.  🌱 These projects demonstrate the growing synergy between cutting-edge technology, renewables, and industrial sustainability. #BatteryStorage #CleanEnergy #RenewableInnovation #EnergyTransition #SolarEnergy #GreenTech #BESS #SustainableIndustry

  • 🔋 Does the Fossil Fuels Conversation Need a Hard Reset? As we head into 2025, the climate conversation seems to be shifting. Instead of just “reducing emissions,” expect to hear more about “phasing out fossil fuels” or even calls to “end coal, oil, and methane gas” altogether. It’s a clear signal: the focus is moving from managing the effects of fossil fuels to actively addressing their use. 🌍 In the U.S., President-elect Donald Trump has announced plans to set up a National Energy Council, with North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum at the helm. The goal? Ramp up oil and gas drilling while scaling back certain climate policies. The strategy highlights deregulation and private investment to boost energy production. So, What’s the Plan? - Expand U.S. energy production through fewer restrictions and more private sector involvement. - Address energy security by focusing on reliable, steady power sources—sometimes called baseload power. - Keep renewables like wind and solar in play, but only where they make clear economic sense. It’s a bold plan, but it may face some real-world challenges. U.S. oil production is already at record highs, and forcing companies to drill even more could lead to oversupply, lower prices, and reduced profits. Add in tariff-driven cost increases, and things get complicated fast. At the same time, renewables aren’t going anywhere—especially in states where they make economic sense. And while critics argue Trump’s approach could undermine climate progress, supporters point to the importance of stable energy for economic growth and security. This is a tough balancing act. The energy transition has to meet today’s needs while planning for tomorrow, and the role of fossil fuels is far from a black-and-white issue. What’s clear is that the conversation around energy—what we use, how we use it, and how we transition—is evolving rapidly. #EnergyPolicy #EnergyDominance #FossilFuels #Renewables

  • 🔋 Trump’s Policies Could Reshape U.S. Energy Storage Landscape?🌍 President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs on imported battery materials and possible changes to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits are raising questions about the future of energy storage in the U.S., with analysts predicting a potential 15% decline in deployments by 2035 under a worst-case scenario. Key Insights: 🔋Tariff Increases: Proposed tariffs on Chinese goods could hit 60%, up from the current 25%, leading to higher costs for battery materials despite limited U.S. manufacturing capacity. Developers will face rising expenses but may adapt by sourcing from Southeast Asia. 🔋IRA Tax Credits Uncertainty: While a full repeal of the IRA seems unlikely due to bipartisan support for clean energy investments in swing states, modifications or phasedowns could hinder growth in energy storage. 🔋Worst-Case Projections: Without IRA incentives, the U.S. could see 185 GW / 755 GWh in storage capacity added by 2035, compared to 218 GW / 883 GWh in the base case, BloombergNEF reports. 🔋State-Level Resilience: States like Massachusetts and Illinois are bolstering deployment with ambitious energy storage targets, ensuring progress continues even amidst federal shifts. Tesla Energy’s rapid expansion in energy storage and Musk’s relationship with Trump add further intrigue, but the sector's resilience and global demand for energy storage signal continued growth opportunities. 🌱 #EnergyStorage #USPolitics #RenewableEnergy #BatteryStorage #InflationReductionAct #CleanTech #Tariffs #NetZero
