BNPL regulation is moving a step closer. Many unserved in the traditional credit market increasingly turn to innovative, but currently unregulated BNPL providers. BNPL provides a flexible, seamless experience that can deliver benefit to consumers. However, BNPL firms are not subject to the same rules as consumer credit firms, meaning customers are not protected as much as when they use regulated consumer credit. Our recent report found that almost 20% of unserved consumers using BNPL were already in arrears at the time of taking out the product. https://lnkd.in/epSHa2iu
