Conciliation Resources and our implementing partner Fondation Vegas Jeunes pour le Développement are working in the Central African Republic to promote the empowerment of women by supporting communities to collectively identify and work against exclusionary and harmful gender norms. Following a training session from Fondation Vegas with 20 young people from communities around the town of Sibut, one young woman has put her new mediation skills into practice - challenging gender norms, resolving a family dispute and inspiring local leadership. Funded by the UK International Science Partnerships Fund this is an opportunity for an early or mid-career researcher to embed themselves with Conciliation Resources for a year to expand their networks and create new links across policy and academia. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh perspectives to critical issues and help us develop new approaches and solutions to policy challenges. This will be an opportunity to work with our teams and partners in a collaborative spirit. We are looking for applicants who have a contextual focus on places where we have peacebuilding programmes that are eligible for this call. These include the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, the Philippines / Mindanao, and the Solomon Islands.
