What a fantastic day we had!
We walked 24k across the Lake districts 10 biggest peaks for WWF and we met some amazing people!
It was sunny. It was cold. It was wet. We had it all! 😅
But thanks to the efforts of all participants we raised over £10,000

A brilliant panel discussion covering a range of topics, including discussions that touched on the TAPPED out research conducted by KnowB4.
It was great to meet Javvad Malik and hear his thoughts on the reasons why people make mistakes.
Unfortunately I couldn’t stay for a longer chat or for lunch as I’m traveling south for more client engagements. But this session goves me plenty to think about on my journey (I made about 6 pages of notes! 😅)

ONE OF THE MOST DECEPTIVELY EASY, BUT MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO ASK
"Does this make sense to you?"
Its one of the first questions I ask when presenting the ISMS to the client. Even before we get into the detail, I will show them the structure of the ISMS, and ask this question.
Why?
Because the client needs to own the ISMS, so it needs to make sense to them.
Typically the ISMS is in a folder structure like this;
1) About us
2) Our Policies
3) Our Procedures
4) Our Awareness Programme
5) Our Audits
6) Management Support
7) Our Suppliers
8) Our BC Plans
9) Data Protection
If your folder structure is complicated, then you're not going to find what you need, when you need it.
Make sure it reflects you and your organisation.
Some Audiors will ask "Can you show me your ISMS Manual".
Although we don't have one, if we did, then these would be the chapters within it.

Yup... It's true! When Lee Scorey and I decided to put our approach to implementing ISO27001 down on paper I never thought I'd have people DM me with messages about how we're "eroding the industry"! 😂
I guess they're not happy we're revealing 'secrets' of the industry?! And some correct us on our approach (BTW - I'm always happy to be corrected, as there is always more than one way to 'skin a cat' 😅😂)
But as the saying goes... "Haters gonna hate" 🤪
Lee and I have a genuine desire to help people. Not everyone wants or needs Consultants Like Us. So this little 'cook book' gets them started. Eventually they might come and ask for help. Or they won't. We're happy either way.
