About us

The Cool Farm Alliance (CFA) is a science-led, not-for-profit membership organisation (community interest company) that owns, manages, and improves the Cool Farm Tool (CFT) and cultivates the leadership network to advance regenerative agriculture at scale. The Cool Farm Alliance growing membership includes many of the world’s leading food and beverage companies, NGOs, academic institutions, farmer groups and agronomists. The Cool Farm Tool engages and empowers users through quantification and modelling “what-if” scenarios covering on-farm greenhouse gas emissions, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, water and food loss and waste. Cool Farm Alliance members share the need for a respected, consistent, standardised, independent calculation engine and have joined the Alliance to ensure the Cool Farm Tool meets this need, now and in the future. It is registered in the UK.

Regenerative farming is gaining momentum. ➡️ 🚜 This shift isn’t just a grassroots movement, it’s driven by industry encouragement and growing resources. Rebecca Hesketh, our Regenerative Agriculture Coach and Farmer Advisory Board Facilitator with Cool Farm Alliance, recently shared insights from the Oxford Real Farming Conference. She left inspired by the progress being made 💡 As a farmer herself, Becca recognises the challenges in adopting regenerative practices and emphasises the supply chain's critical role in sharing knowledge, building confidence, and reducing risks. 🌾 Through her Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass, Becca helps businesses explore the ecological and economic drivers of change, from healthier soil to sustainable mindsets. Discover Rebecca Hesketh's perspective on regenerative farming trends and how businesses can collaborate with farmers 👇 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/efRaiYB9 #Regenerative #Agriculture #SustainableFarming #FutureOfFood #HealthySoil #AgriInnovation #Sustainability

  • In our fourth Regen Reflections session, in collaboration with SAI Platform, titled "Getting Results: Generating Meaningful Insights to Drive Change," we highlighted the importance of turning insights into tangible impact for farmers, businesses, and financiers. The discussion emphasised the importance of going beyond carbon reduction and focusing on practical, measurable outcomes that drive change. 🌱Here are some takeaways:    🍀 Holistic Outcomes Drive Impact Beyond Carbon: Tilda Riceland Pvt. Ltd. initiative in India set out to create a more sustainable rice supply chain by partnering with the farmers who grow their rice.  Their approach measured not just carbon reductions but also soil health, biodiversity, water use, and farmer income.   🚜 By using alternative wet-drying (AWD) and integrated pest management (IPM), they:  ✅  Reduced the amount of pesticide active ingredient applied by about 70% per kg of rice  ✅ Increased yields by 7%  ✅ Reduced carbon dioxide equivalent emissions by 36% per kg of rice.    By using the Cool Farm Tool to estimate carbon reduction and measure progress, Tilda’s initiative proves that regenerative practices like AWD can benefit farmers, improve sustainability, and help companies meet their carbon reduction commitments. 🤝 Collaboration Simplifies Complexity Strong partnerships between corporates, financiers, and farmers are key to streamlining measurement, reporting, and implementation. Tools like the Cool Farm Tool and Exchange Market help farmers access tailored insights while providing businesses with robust sustainability data for reporting and investment decisions. 🚜 Farmer-Centric Approaches Drive Adoption For regenerative agriculture to succeed, insights must be practical, actionable, and financially beneficial for farmers.  ✔ Tilda’s initiative increased farmer profitability through lower costs and higher yields.  ✔Nestlé and Lloyds Banking Group Bank partnership with Soil Association Exchange provides benchmarking tools and guidance to help farmers improve long-term resilience. Regenerative agriculture requires a holistic view of our supply chains. Carbon is one part of that, but equally important is building resilience, increasing farmer prosperity, and creating long-term value across the supply chain. Want to be part of the conversation? Stay tuned for updates on our next session 🌾🌍   #RegenAg #RegenReflections

🌱 Calling All Seed Production Experts! 🌱 We’re developing a calculation method for the Cool Farm Platform to include GHG impact of seed production. However, we've encountered a challenge: there’s limited published data comparing yields between seed production and commodity production systems. We’re seeking a multiplication factor to represent the yield differences between these systems for specific crops. If you’re interested and can assist, we’ll happily share the list of crops and discuss further. Please get in touch and feel free to share in your network - thanks!
