  • Our HR Director Caroline van der Feltz FCIPD shares her insights on apprenticeships, and how they can be the key to diversifying colleague networks and future proofing business skills. "There are a number of reasons why apprenticeships work for Danske. First is the quality and diversity of the people the model enables us to access – talented people who might not otherwise go to university, people with life and work experience in other fields, and people within our own teams who want to upskill for the future." Our Danske Futures Apprenticeship Programe is open for applications until 14 March, find out more information at https://lnkd.in/eC-uuf7j Read Caroline's article in full at: https://lnkd.in/eqH2tHZw Ulster Business Magazine Belfast Telegraph Ulster University Business School Aisling Howe CIPD Assoc

  • Have you made a payment in District, but the payee is calling to say they haven’t received it yet? Remember, if you have created payments within a folder, then you need to close that folder once all the payments have been authorised. Here’s how to check that the payment is not sitting in a folder which is waiting to be closed: •   Click on ‘Payments’ down the left hand menu •   Click on ‘List of folders (Payments)’ in the top menu bar •   Change the date range to search for when you know the payment was created •   The payment should appear as part of the Extended search criteria •   Click on the tick box to the left of the folder you require •   Click on ‘Close folders’. We’ve published our financial results for the full year 2024, reporting a profit before tax of £218.2 million. Our CEO Vicky Davies said: “I am pleased to announce a strong financial performance for 2024. Moving into 2025 in a robust financial position means we are a bank that remains well positioned to support customers when they need us. We continue to focus on helping local businesses with their growth ambitions, enabling local people to realise their homebuying aspirations and on playing a key role in supporting the NI economy. “Last year we supported the local business community with around £750 million in business lending approvals. We welcomed over 1,500 new small business customers and lending approvals for small businesses were up 14% year-on-year. “We have an ambition to become the clear leading provider of mortgages in NI, and in 2024 we delivered a record £730 million in local mortgage lending approvals - an increase of around 35% year-on-year. “We also opened over 16,000 new personal current accounts, an increase of around 60% year-on-year. “We look forward to the year ahead with optimism and with a continued determination to support our customers, wider society and the economy.” You can read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/epQHnDHe

  • We’re extending our charity partnership with Include Youth for a second year. Over the past year, our collaboration has positively impacted the lives of care experienced young people through various initiatives and support programmes. Thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of our colleagues, enhanced by matched funding, we raised over £71,000 in 2024. 💙🤍 We've also donated 50 laptops and provided valuable support through CV and interview skills sessions, workplace tours, and more. We’ve been able to work with the young people at Include Youth to make changes to our account opening processes for care experienced young people coming through Include Youth – which can be a big barrier to accessing finances. A special thank you to Include Youth for their invaluable training for our colleagues, which helps us improve services for our care experienced customers. Together, we're making a real difference to care experienced young people across Northern Ireland. 🙌 https://lnkd.in/eNfDvUKE

Really enjoyed the first in this Danske Bank UK small business series of three with Belfast Chamber at Custom House Belfast and speaking with businesses about some exciting growth plans in the year ahead. It was great to have Ashleigh Averell with us speaking on expansion within her growing business. There were plenty of key takeaways from Peter Russell and Steven Scullion of Invest Northern Ireland also. If we didn’t get speaking with you but want a chat just reach out. Look forward to seeing you at our next event in Feb. Clare Guinness CDir Julie Skelly Janine Mcerlane Joanne Powell
