We had a cafe Cook Off this lunchtime at The Point! 🍽️ Harrison and Jenny (our Facilities and Cafe Managers) have been working hard drafting a new menu, so invited staff and our Dance On participants to sample some of their creations. The Dance On ladies are tough critics, but it was smiles, laughs and nibbles all round in our gorgeous cafe space. With new sandwiches, salads and soups, we’re in for some real treats with the new incoming menu. Keep your eyes (and tastebuds) peeled - and get excited! Huge shout out to all team members working hard to make our cafe the best it can be. Thank you for having us this afternoon. ☕️🧡

This morning I had the privilege of talking at the Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber and NHS South Yorkshire ICB Health Innovation Showcase at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC). Our Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities funded project Creative Health Board Hub project at Sheffield Hallam University was selected as one of two stand-out projects in relation to the Bold Ambition to ‘Act differently together to strengthen and accelerate our focus on prevention and early identification’. It was great to be there with our partner darts who were selected along with Cast, Doncaster for their Tuneful Chatter project in relation to the Bold Ambition to ‘Focus on development in early years so that every child in South Yorkshire is school ready’. Overall, the event gave a real sense of the incredible (social) innovation that is happening across our health and care system (we need to be better at celebrating this), but it also highlighted some common challenges. In particular, finding ways to sustainably fund and scale successful projects where the evidence and consensus about 'what works' is strong seems to be a step beyond given the financial constraints the health system is facing.
