It’s time to focus on The Facts. Fact: Electric cars are a great option for some drivers! Also Fact: Electric cars aren’t right for everyone… just yet. Before making the switch to electric vehicles (EVs), consumers need to feel informed and confident that it’s the right choice for them. Unfortunately, myths and factually inaccurate information have begun to reach consumers negatively influencing their views of EVs. So, we wanted to change this and make sure consumers get a more balanced and factually correct view, so they can make more informed purchase decisions. That’s why, together with Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and ChargeUK, we have created ‘The EV Facts’ that address the key perceived barriers to electric adoption, endorsed by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom. Future of Roads Minister Lilian Greenwood commented: "Zero emission vehicles will drive our journey to net zero, which is why this Government is committed to accelerating the transition. Ensuring consumers have clear, accurate information when deciding what kind of car to buy is essential. This work by industry is absolutely vital to boosting drivers’ confidence in zero emission vehicles, and I’m pleased to back it." From researching to buying a car, consumers need to be presented with factual information - so we would encourage the industry as a whole to work together and share ‘The EV Facts’ – if we are all sharing the same messages, consumers stand a better chance of feeling less confused and more empowered. Let’s put the consumer back at the heart of this transition. So, whether you’re a manufacturer, marketplace, retailer, charge point provider, or energy company (or somewhere in between) we can collectively help to instil confidence with car buyers. It’s about sharing ‘The Facts’ so we can all help make the transition to electric vehicles a successful one. #Roadto2030 Full release in comments 👇 Ian Plummer Laura McNally MBA Laura Harvey Marc Palmer Erin Baker Bryony Mannix Mike Hawes Vicky Read Ben Kilbey Rory Reid Quentin Willson Emma Butcher Dan Trent Catherine King Abdul Chowdhury Louis Maxwell EVA | Electric Vehicle Approved Electric Vehicles UK NFDA | National Franchised Dealers Association Green.TV Media ElectricDrives Nicholas Hellen
