Its Friday......
What’s your ripple effect?" It's Friday, which means a new podcast episode. This week is special. In this episode of Double D Do Business, we had the privilege of sitting down with the inspira(c)tion of Alex Bélisle-Springer Episode 114: Ripple Effects – The Quiet Power of Individual Impact takes us deep into conversations that matter. https://lnkd.in/e2MqUsU4 What’s the one ripple effect you’re proudest of creating? Let us know in the comments. 🎙️ What Alex shared will stop you in your tracks: "When things are difficult, that’s when you have to look at them the most." "We’re wired to think about what’s missing, but we need to focus on what’s present." "Language is not static; it evolves with us." Alex’s journey of healing, self-discovery, and connection is a masterclass in being yourself. From breaking free of labels to building inclusive spaces where diversity thrives, their words challenge us to think differently and act intentionally. Key takeaways from the episode: How curiosity is rooted in silence and listening. The courage to self-correct in the moment. Why human equity starts with our everyday actions. For Dave and myself this episode blew us away, the reflections on language, leadership, and the subtle power of individual actions. Together, we explore how each of us creates ripple effects in our communities. Ready to rethink your "and"? Its a must listen....you need this right now to help you
Have you fallen into the January trap already? January is a time of fresh starts, big plans... overwhelming inboxes, relentless meetings, and that creeping sense of "how will I keep up?" Yada yada blah blah Just been reminded of this from a client session this afternoon. We reminded him about our global gathering in 2024 at Mallorca, which he was at, and I challenged him to see if he could flip the script. What if we could "Work Backwards" and reclaim control of your time, energy, and focus? In our recent Double D Do Business episode, we sat down with the incredible Tim Duggan, author of Work Backwards. https://lnkd.in/edkBx6Ab He challenges the "bullsh*t of work-life balance," unpacks why 20% meaning at work is enough, and shares actionable ways to break free from the busy trap. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll take away ✅ How to use calendar bankruptcy to declutter your schedule (goodbye, pointless meetings!). ✅ The "20% rule" for finding meaning at work without overhauling your career. ✅ Why experimenting with small changes like a shorter workday can lead to transformative results. ✅ And the BIG question: What is enough? 🎧 Listen now to learn how to design your work and life intentionally in 2024 👉 https://lnkd.in/edkBx6Ab Let’s start your year differently. Not with overwhelming feelings but with clarity, simplicity, and purpose. Calendar bankruptcy: Declaring a fresh start for your schedule and rebuilding it intentionally. 20% meaning rule: To stave off burnout, only 20% of your time at work needs to feel meaningful. Experiments over big risks: Treat life changes like experiments instead of giant, scary commitments. The Bullsh*t of work-life balance: Flip the language life should come first. What is enough? Regularly ask yourself what success and satisfaction look like for you. Let me know if you’re ready to take back your time and define "enough" for yourself in 2024. Share your thoughts below ⬇️ or hit play on the episode https://lnkd.in/edkBx6Ab BIG P.S. Tim Duggan is in London sharing his book- check it out here Tickets are £10 (or free for x+why members) and include a delicious lunch or breakfast. The events are intentionally intimate - reserve your spot here: https://lnkd.in/dqG4kuw7

Oh, what a joy. It's not Friday yet, so here is this week's episode. Timed intentionally. https://lnkd.in/enGHE8Ck We end the year on a complete high. This episode is with Victoria Song, the coach and author of Bending Reality. If you've not read it, grab it, she reads it too on Audible, and it's definitely a power book of 2024. I am personally on my third read. Instant takeaways from this podcast episode so pertinent to today publishing it off timeline - all intentional from us to you. 1. The shift from goals to vision Victoria shares her perspective of holding an expansive vision without attaching it to time. This was a drop-the-mic moment for Dave and me as it challenged the conventional obsession with deadlines and resolutions. We encourage you to focus on the feeling and energy of what you want to create rather than the constraints of a calendar. Mic drop (not the NYC ball drop!) 2. Bending Reality is a radical concept The idea that reality is not fixed but malleable is empowering and disruptive. It pushes you to rethink the “rules” we have all accepted about success, timelines, and personal growth. The phrase “What if reality doesn’t need fixing, but your mindset does?” sticks with us because it reframes self-improvement from striving to expanding and for us, that's thriving. 3. The courage to stop fixing yourself We share the idea of rejecting the “New Year, New Me” narrative. It’s not about starting over but about trusting who you already are. 4. Practical tools for emotional expansion Victoria’s concept of expansion and contraction isn’t just theoretical. You can apply it immediately. Whether shifting from contraction into expansion or recognising when fear is guiding me toward growth, as you are right now. Blooming refreshing. 5. Timelines are arbitrary, choices are everything The recurring challenge to traditional thinking about time—especially around January is one at @and. We aren't advocates for it; it's still winter, after all. Hibernating season! It does remind us that transformation doesn’t require a new year or even a specific plan but bold choices and the ability to trust the process. Victoria's book and her work are on www.victoriasong.me ---------------------------------------------------------------- Season 6 is still running, and it's been the best yet. Most have listened to it; we will share more as the year unfolds. Dave Evans CEnergistO Debbie Halls-Evans @and.
