DropWorks Rums Sweep the 2025 The Spirits Business Awards: the Rum & Cachaça Masters 🎉 Happy Monday one and all, we’re Dropping into your feed with some very exciting news on this (almost) Spring-like day! You are likely already aware of how happy we are to be able to craft exceptional quality rum. But what truly makes it all worthwhile is knowing you’re enjoying it just as much as we love making it. Well...we’re absolutely thrilled to share that all 3 of rums that were entered in the 2025 The Spirits Business Rum & Cachaça Masters have won Gold! Barrel Drop has earned Gold in the ‘Up to 7 Years Aged’ category, Clear Drop won gold in the 'ultra premium' light rum category and Spice Drop was awarded Gold in the spiced category! This time last year, Barrel Drop Rum didn’t even exist. Launched back in October, this barrel-matured rum spent up to 12 months in hand-selected, bespoke casks at our Nottinghamshire-based home, the DropWorks Distillery. In just a few months, we couldn’t wait to enter it into its very first competition, and we’re ecstatic with the results. Unlike traditional aged rums, Barrel Drop undergoes a shorter maturation process, yet still delivers a rich, layered flavour thanks to its high-quality British-made base, innovative ingredients (IYKYK!) and unique combination of casks. 🏅 What Does This Mean for DropWorks?🏅  Winning even one gold medal at the Spirits Business Awards is no small achievement. Judged by some of the most respected critics in the industry, these awards rigorously assess every aspect and is huge recognition of the quality and craftsmanship behind DropWorks Rums. ✨ The 2025 awards season is officially underway! ✨ Judging panels have been assembling world-wide. The finest of liquids are being rated. The bar is set high, and we are here for it! As the 2025 series opens, we can’t help but reflect and feel grateful for the recognition DropWorks received in 2024. With 30 awards under our belt from just one awards season, which happened to be our debut, it’s been a real milestone for us. DropWorks Rums were reviewed by some of the most prestigious judges and awarding bodies, amongst so many awesome brands (and friends)! Highlights include: 🏆 IWSC - Club Oenologique GOLD! Spice Drop scooped up the gold award internationally scoring a whopping 95 out of a possible 100. This meant that Spice Drop was ranked in the top 15% of all spirits tasted! 🏆 TRIPLE GOLD for Clear Drop Rum - our OG Drop really is consistently bringing home the goods, placing in every single competition entered and scoring 3 amazing golds including The Spirits Business and CLASS Bar Mag Bartenders Brand Awards 🙌 🏆 GOLD for Funk Drop - our beloved overproof Rum, in the awesome London Competitions scoring a fantastic 91 out of 100🤩 This year, we’re taking it to the next level and can’t wait to put Barrel Drop in the spotlight. I spent the day with their marketing expert, Victoria Georgiou, sharing an in-depth SEO audit and brainstorming strategies to enhance this start-up's organic visibility. The day got even better with a distillery tour and rum tasting, led by the incredible Darren, and Shaun Tom Smith, the GENIUS behind the distillation process. I also had the chance to meet Lewis Hayes, the founder of DropWorks. The dedication and passion he’s poured into this venture are truly inspiring.
