Builder E G Carter & Co Ltd adds to Board of Directors 🤝👀 Gloucester-based E G Carter & Co Ltd has expanded its Board of Directors with the appointment of Mat Vye, Thomas Jones, and Phil Barnes. Phil Barnes, Pre-Construction Director, core responsibilities to include the procurement of new work, primarily within the Partnership Housing team. He will also provide increasing support to the wider company and including key aspects of commercial control. Thomas Jones, Construction Director, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Major Works team, focusing on the operational and production aspects of projects. This includes ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, quality, and programme management. We are proud to announce the successful handover of the newly constructed SEND extension at Oasis Academy New Oak in #Bristol, delivered for Oasis Community Learning. This transformative project included: Additional classrooms Hygiene suites An Occupational Therapy room A Practical Food Classroom Extensive refurbishment of the existing toilets Throughout the project, we engaged closely with the school and its students to make the experience even more special. One of the highlights was a hand-painting activity, where the children added their own creative touch to the construction journey—making it a memorable collaboration! The new facilities will enable the academy to enhance its services, accommodate more students, and provide an even better educational experience for its community. A big thank you to Kevin Kendal MCIAT, our client Oasis Community Learning, and Phil Allan of Oasis Academy New Oak, for their collaboration throughout the project. Phil will also provide increasing support to the wider company including aspects of commercial control. Thomas Jones, Construction Director, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Major Works team, focusing on the operational and production aspects of projects. Mathew Vye, Residential Director, will lead the Partnership Housing team, maintain relationships with framework partners, and drive the continued procurement of new opportunities. Mat will also manage the financial and operational controls of ongoing workloads and take on some wider commercial control responsibilities. From 1st January 2025, these leaders will join our experienced Board, led by Joshua Carter and Sam Carter, alongside Michael Carter, David Carter, and Peter Burrows, as we continue to build on our legacy and move towards our centenary in 2045.
