We support early years providers to deliver quality, affordable and sustainable care and learning to families, and work to ensure that all children, regardless of background, are given the best possible start in life. The Alliance’s vision is a society where every child enjoys the same opportunity to learn through play. A report out today from the Education Policy Institute calls on government to tackle food poverty in the early years as a priority. At the Alliance we completely agree that addressing food poverty in the early years must be central to plans to tackle poverty, and that this must include additional funding to cover the cost of meals and snacks in early years settings.
