About us
Earth Pathways celebrates the work of artists and writers who share a deep love for the land and a desire to live with appreciation and responsibility for this beautiful planet. We publish the Earth Pathways Diary and Earth Pathways Wall Calendar every year. Our Diary journeys through the seasonal cycle of the year, with a focus on the eight Earth Festivals. Our Calendar is hopeful, heart-led and celebratory. Together they are an inspiration full of magical words and images inspired by a deep love for the Earth and positive environmental change.

I hope you've had chance to enjoy the time around the solstice to find your own stillness for a while. As Tess Howell says in this week's #diary page: "Sometimes when we really sink (synch?) into our own stillness it is almost like we are conjuring up a spell. We make space for some future self to call us forth; for some good instruction to be given, for some clear knowing to happen..." #Words: 'Change is Coming' - Tess Howell. 'The Sun seems to hover, hung low in the sky as though it might never push back the darkness... Trust your night eyes, and walk through the land of night knowing yourself, and knowing that the light is coming back.' We're counting down to the #WinterSolstice... TELL US us how you're celebrating this magical transition. #Words: 'Yule - Winter Solstice' - George Parker. Here in the darkest part of the year, it sometimes feels like the Wheel turns its slowest as we negotiate the shortness of the days and all that winter presents us with. Yet inside me I sense the Winter Solstice (Dec 21st) moving a little closer and feel the anticipation ripple in the days leading up to this pivotal point. Are the sunsets always a deeper amber? Are the tree silhouettes more stark? Is the air more charged with a mix of melancholy, tinged with heart-bursting hope for the light returning? Or is it just me? Tell us how this time of year feels to YOU! Whenever possible, gathering with others at the Winter Solstice can be the most profound and magical of times. Take inspiration from Lea Kendall's heart-warming words in this week's #diary page and let Lynne Sawyer's artwork remind you of the rapture of colours to be found at this time of year. #Words: 'A Connection to Midwinter's Past' by Lea Kendall. This week's beautiful #diary page: I am the dancing wagtail, the soaring crow, the wild rose blooming beneath the Elder’s shadow. I’m the untamed moors and the hidden gorge, the thunderous falls that winding rivers forge. I’m Earth’s rich, dark soil, the Moon’s silver light, the liminal spaces you might enter at night. I am standing stones and womb-like cave, the raging storm and the gentle wave. I am all these things and more, and they are me, for All is One, and blessed are we. #Words: 'All Is One' by Becky Mackeonis (Earth Dreaming Arts). This wondrous Earth is always there for us. Even in our most solitary of times the land on which we walk welcomes us in, says stay awhile with me and be nourished. Coming home to ourselves, to that still and loving place within, we are again reminded that there is no separation, only the illusion of separateness. Such a beautiful #diary page this week... #Words: 'The Hermit's Hut' - Nicola Smalley from The Way of the Buzzard. The Tree Ogham Card Game is a beautiful project that aligns with Earth Pathways’ values, blending nature connection with a meaningful purpose. Created in collaboration between frequent Earth Pathways contributor Yannick Dubois (visit our Showcase), Children's Forest and the Order of Bards Ovates & Druids (OBOD), this deck not only teaches about the 20 sacred Ogham trees but also directly supports reforestation efforts. With each pledge, Aviva’s match funding doubles the impact, making it an incredible way to support tree planting and inspire a love for nature in children and adults alike. The Ogham trees are sacred. They each represent a letter in Ogham; an ancient druidic Irish alphabet. Each Ogham tree carries deep wisdom and healing for those who care to connect to them...
