During a recent visit to the Hub in Gulu, Jolly Acha, one of our team members overseeing the central region, had a heartwarming chat with a teacher at Panyikworo Primary School. Reflecting on the impact of the Hub Heroes Library Programme, the teacher shared:
"The children know how to use the tablets much better than the teachers."
This simple, yet powerful statement captures the sparks happening in our Hubs—children not only learning but thriving in a digital world. At Hello World, we believe every child deserves a chance to unlock their full potential, and that’s what our Hub Heroes Library Programme is doing every day.
After wrapping up the first cohort of the programme, the numbers speak for themselves:
📊 420 children reached
📈 89% with improved literacy
🧮 87% with increased numeracy
But beyond the statistics, it's the stories that matter most. Stories like Blessing’s—a young girl who went from struggling to hold a tablet to confidently reading, writing, and counting. With your support, and thanks to our partners at Educational Opportunity Foundation, we are scaling this programme to 24 new communities across Uganda, reaching 750 more children.
This is more than just education; it’s about creating lasting change in the lives of children, their families, and their communities.
At Hello World, we see potential in every child, and together, we can turn that potential into reality.
