⏲ Throwback Thursday ⏲ This week's throwback is from nearly 10 years ago exactly. Dated 17/12/2014, Van Hool Astron with cherished registration BU55 WRU (marking its use as a Team Coach for the Wales Rugby Team) is captured in Newport prior to taking passengers to the Birmingham Christmas Markets. This impressive coach was new in 2008 to PARRYS INTERNATIONAL TOURS LIMITED, Cheslyn Hay (Staffordshire) and was ironically named "City of Cardiff" during its time there. It passed to Edwards in December 2009 with its cherished registration later passing to a 'Red Dragon' Mercedes-Benz Tourismo. #Coachtravel #Christmasmarket #ThrowbackThursday

We have all the recordings saved at Head Office! The great, late Ruth Madoc provided the voice over for a total of 8 adverts showcasing what Edwards has to offer. Today, our front line vehicles are now mainly Mercedes-Benz Tourismos as opposed to Setras shown in the picture. ⏲ Throwback Thursday ⏲ Edwards Coaches have been looking back through old pictures as we have our centenary anniversary approaching (2025). We thought that it would be a nice idea to run some regular 'throwback Thursdays', showcasing pictures chosen at random as we look back over our 100 years of operations. This is this weeks, dating from the mid 1990's. Jonckheere Jubilee YAP 104 (new as B495 CBD) with driver Fred Tucker was one of the first Edwards vehicles to travel on The Channel Tunnel which was inaugurated on 6 May 1994. Hard to believe this circa 30 years ago! It emerges from the train with a Peugeot 106 XRAD van alongside. The cherished registration YAP 104 lives on, allocated to our Red Dragon Neoplan Starliner new to Edwards as ML13 XOB. Of course, more pictures from the history of Edwards Coaches will be presented in our anniversary publication from Amberley Publishing.
