EIDO Healthcare is committed to helping regulatory authorities and healthcare providers achieve excellence in the vital areas of informed consent and clinical governance by producing patient information documents, available in various languages including Arabic, to aid the surgery consent process. This is done by working closely with many Royal Colleges and Associations who endorse the library inc. RCSEng, ASGBI, RCSEd, RCOphth, BAPS, POA among others. EIDO’s Library is currently used in over 650 hospitals across four continents and has an annual readership of approximately 8 million patients per year. The Library has 360 patient education documents mainly for elective surgical procedures covering 26 specialties from anesthetic to vascular. The purpose of the documents is to complement and supplement the conversation with the clinician around informed consent, with intention to improve patient experience by increasing patient engagement and education to reduce complaints about lack of sufficient information being delivered at point of consultation and consent being given. EIDO is also accredited under the UK Department of Health’s Information Standard Accreditation Scheme as a producer of “high quality informed consent patient information”.
