The design, testing and quality control processes adopted in manufacturing building envelope fasteners and mechanical anchors, including its world-leading LIEBIG range, are inherently linked to those that our Industrial Engineering fastener teams work to. No other fastener manufacturer serving the construction industry has evolved from these principles, and it’s why the aim for perfection is in EJOT's DNA. Read more below ⬇️

BISON UK partners with EJOT to provide anchoring solutions for major road tunnel project... Anchors from both the EJOT and LIEBIG ranges were used in the development of one of the UK’s most high-profile new road tunnel projects. More than 6,000 high-performance mechanical anchors were used in the installation of the electrical services and public address (PA) system within the tunnel. EJOT UK supplied these HCR anchors to BISON, the market-leading supplier of M&E support systems and bracketry. Due to the combination of exhaust emissions, vibration and the close proximity to water increased corrosion resistance was essential for this application. EJOT’s BA-E Plus through-bolt, manufactured in 1.4529 HCR stainless steel, and the LIEBIG Superplus BLS-P self-undercutting heavy-duty expansion anchor, manufactured in A4 stainless steel, were the two fastening solutions chosen for this application. The top resource we have is knowledge, and our UK technical team work closely and virtually with colleagues at the EJOT Tec Centre in Germany. Locally the UK Applitec laboratory is a hub for design, development, testing and training and this short film is the first in a series that will introduce the facility and the people that make it tick. How many of these faces do you recognise? 👇 #UKmanufacturing #Fastening #Technology

Our congratulations go to Bam Farrans Joint Venture, 2024 winner of the #NCEBridges Awards, 'Road Bridge Project of the Year' category. EJOT UK's role in supplying and supporting the project with LIEBIG anchoring technology has been well documented, with LIEBIG Ultraplus undercut anchors - believed to be the largest mechanical anchors ever used in a civil engineering project - playing a key role in the construction of the twin leaf bascule bridge in East Anglia. EJOT UK’s anchoring specialist, Paul Papworth said: "It was an interesting and challenging project to be involved in. Communication with all parties at all levels was key due to the extraordinary circumstances which presented themselves during construction - ranging from a global pandemic, record summer temperatures - and even the controlled detonation of an unexploded second world war bomb, immediately next to the site! “Couple these with the normal everyday challenges of maintaining construction schedules on engineering projects of this nature. Overcoming such challenges are a testament to the skills, knowledge and diligence of the Bam Farrans team along with the people, skills and processes that are in place in the background. A big well done to Lynsey and the rest team involved for a well-deserved award.” https://lnkd.in/eSKW8PRZ

Colorfast 🤝 Kingspan More than 120,000 Colorfast self-drilling fasteners have been used in the construction of Kingspan Group's new thermally superior and visually appealing purpose-built manufacturing plant in Vietnam. The 16,000 sq. m factory at Phu My Town in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is the first of its kind for Kingspan in South East Asia. Bi-metallic stainless steel fasteners were chosen as they are more suitable for the hot and humid Vietnamese climate and due to its impressive corrosion resistance, offers the benefit of longevity. Another benefit of this material is it also offers lower thermal transmission values, which teamed with Colorfast’s nylon over-moulded head provides further reduction to thermal transmission. This will support Kingspan to achieve its own net zero for carbon emissions deadline of 2030. Read more: Link in the comments 👇

From Yorkshire to Great Yarmouth, via New York! The £121m Herring Bridge became fully operational yesterday, with over 100 Liebig Ultraplus undercut anchors manufactured at EJOT UK, crucially securing the bridge’s lifting, lowering and holding mechanism. The new bridge will provide a much-needed road link for the town of Great Yarmouth whilst delivering harbour access for the constant flow of marine traffic operating between the mainland and the plethora of offshore power hubs situated in the North Sea. And as dignitaries and officials celebrated yesterday’s official opening event, this impressive double bascule bridge showcases the deployment of possibly the largest mechanical anchors ever used in a civil engineering project, and the project support demanded by such an undertaking. The project headed up by BAM Farrans, incorporates the unique mechanical strength delivered by Ultraplus in a post-installation approach. Our article linked below outlines the journey – which for EJOT began with a local enquiry in Barnsley, Yorkshire - and progressed to satisfying criteria set by New York architects, Hardesty Hanover. In the coming months we will focus on the many technical aspects faced throughout the project timeline and learn such challenges are simply routine for the professionals on site.
