😊Big smiles at the end of a day of training at Ella's Kitchen with a buzzy group of newbies. 📒Making values stick doesn’t just involve an employee handbook and nicely decorated walls. You need training and common language to help you show up in the best way day to day. 🧐That’s exactly what Ella’s do with their value BE CURIOUS. Some of our barners had an amazing time volunteering this week at RSPB's Otmoor nature reserve as part of our partnership with the RSPB, which is helping to protect and restore 30 million square feet of wildflower meadows across the UK by 2030 🌼 Their day was full of tree coppicing, a traditional method of managing thorny trees or shrubs by cutting them down to their base to encourage them to regrow + regenerate, helping new plants emerge and attracting birds, bees + bugs🌳🧑🌾 Their day ended with a beautiful Starling murmuration whilst the sun set over the reserve❤️🐦

This Christmas, we’re oh snow proud to be working with our charity partner Action for Children to help support vulnerable little ones + their families across the UK. Every little one deserves to experience the magic of Christmas. But with over 4.3 million children living in poverty across the UK, not every child will be able to. That’s why we’ve given our bestselling Sweetcorn + Carrot Melty Sticks a festive makeover! For every pack sold, 30p will be donated to Action for Children to help support their vital work to give children a safe and happy childhood❤️

This week it is Fertility Awareness Week; at Ella's Kitchen we are super proud that we are a fertility-friendly workplace offering empathy and policies to support our people going through this difficult journey. We have created a psychologically safe workplace, fostering open, judgement free conversations around fertility and this week we are sharing stories as well as tips on how to navigate infertility at work and also how to support those going through infertility. Fertility challenges are more common than many realise, and a compassionate workplace can make all the difference. By raising awareness and supporting those on their fertility journey, we can make our work environments more inclusive and understanding. I went to the #FWordAtWorkLive hosted by Fertility Matters at Work this week. The event highlighted diverse experiences of fertility in the workplace, and showcased how employers can best support employees with their fertility journey, it was amazing to be in a room full of like minded HR professionals who want to provide a pyschologically safe environment for employees and educate people on the difficult journey of infertility 🌈

✊ Knock, knock! We've got a very BIG + important (little) delivery for 10 Downing St! 📦 Thank you to everyone who signed, supported + shared the petition to #BacktheAct and give little ones their future back! With the help of Poppy, William and Sharon Hodgson MP, we delivered our petition (with a whopping 14,000 signatures ✍🏼) to 10 Downing Street, calling on our new Government to commit to adopting a Future Generations Act. Now we’ve delivered the petition straight to the Prime Minister’s front door, we won’t just be waiting for his response. Instead, we’ll be working with MPs to raise the issue in Parliament and continue to shout about how important it is that we put little futures first! 📣 Find out more about how we've been Campaigning for Change here: https://lnkd.in/esrftVSh #LittleFuturesFirst #FutureGensAct

Spend the day with us to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth! One of the pillars of our Diversity + Inclusion framework is Education 📚 So we love inviting guests to our Barns to talk about their experiences and help our teamies broaden their thinking about the world around us! Last week, we had the amazing Will Njobvu visit us to share his experiences navigating the world of entertainment and journalism as a minority and the profound affect those experiences have had on his confidence. We also had an incredibly insightful “Lunch + Learn” with our very own Myles Minott who played his brave card to educate the team on black history and hosted an open and honest Q+A to help us champion our Be Curious value! At Ella’s Kitchen, we always try to promote a Culture of Togetherness where the Barns are a welcoming home for everyone and where people are able to be their true authentic selves, living and breathing our value of Fostering Inclusion everyday ❤️

On #WorldMentalHealthDay it is super important to all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters 🩵 Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, let's use today as a reminder to check in with our friends, family, peers and colleagues. This year’s theme is workplace mental health. We have our team of Mental Health First Aiders at the barns, who are on hand for a cuppa + a chat whenever we need. We're also sharing lots of hints + tips this week on looking after our #mentalhealthatwork, how we can all work together to #fosterinclusion and how to check in on our teamies too!
