About us
Emmaus Merseyside is an award-winning charity that offers a home, individual support, education, training and work opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness. We have a purpose-built, 28-bedroom community building in Seaforth that is home to the people we support, known as Emmaus companions. Each person who joins us has their own en-suite bedroom, as well as access to communal dining, catering, social, exercise, garden and training facilities. To sustain the support offered at our community, the majority of our charity’s income is raised through our social enterprise. The Emmaus Merseyside Charity Superstore sells a wide range of good quality second-hand furniture, household goods, electrical appliances, clothes, books, music and other items.

We are excited to announce that Nanoco has officially signed up to the National 3 Peaks Challenge! 11 of our colleagues will be taking on the 24-hour trek across the UK's tallest peaks, from Ben Nevis to Scafell Pike and Snowdon. We will be hosting a fundraiser for our hike to raise £1000 for Emmaus Merseyside who are our charity partnership for the year. Emmaus Merseyside is an award-winning charity that provides a home, training, work opportunities and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness. They have a residential community and charity superstore based in Seaforth that offers a fresh start to those in need, as well as continued support and personal development opportunities to help their companions journey towards better lives. A group of Emmaus Merseyside community members have started a pilot project to boost their physical and mental wellbeing. Six Emmaus Merseyside residents have so far taken part in the fitness project which includes cardio and strength-based training, group fitness classes and boxing sessions. We could not be more thrilled to be chosen as charity of the year by Nanoco Technologies Ltd. Nanoco is the market leader in the research, development, licensing and large scale manufacture of novel nanomaterials for use in various commercial applications. The partnership will include some fundraising and events from staff including a 3 peaks challenge alongside some corporate volunteering days etc. Big thanks to Molly Corser for showing us around the offices & Labs, and we look forward to what the partnership brings!
Nanoco are thrilled to announce Emmaus Merseyside as our new charity partnership for the next year! After meeting with their incredible team, and visiting their well-known Superstore and residential community, our staff were blown away by the amazing support Emmaus Merseyside has to offer to those struggling with homelessness. They are a completely self-sufficient charity thanks to their thriving Superstore, and are able to re-invest their money back into their community building and the individuals they support, known as companions. All of their companions contribute to their social enterprise by working in their Superstore, out on their delivery vans, or at their community building and garden - which we hope to see flourish this summer.
