At Epilepsy Action we understand how important personal development is and that’s why we continue to develop our culture of learning. 2024 has seen over 800 hours of paid learning for our people and as 2024 comes to a close we want to do a special shout-out to all our team who have developed themselves or achieved qualifications. A special congratulations to the management team who have been working hard on achieving their ILM Leadership and Management Qualifications at level 5 and Level 7. Well done Chantal Spittles, David Thornton, Kathryn Hughes PhD, Tom Shillito, Janet Paterson and Daniel Jennings who achieved their level 5 certifications. And to 2 of our senior leadership team Ann Richardson and Stephanie Smith-Crawshaw who achieved their level 7. We are all ready and keen to keep learning in 2025!

Dear Chancellor Rachel Reeves MP, with the Autumn Budget just days away, we’ve joined together with Turn2us and over 60 diverse organisations, urging you to use language that supports, rather than stigmatises when talking about social security. Words matter. They can build trust in a system meant to protect us all. Let's build a narrative rooted in compassion, not blame. #Budget2024 Read our open letter: https://lnkd.in/gKyUvbxy

I am so thrilled to announce that this years National #DoodleDay auction raised an incredible £24,107 for Epilepsy Action! 🤩🥳 We are so grateful to every single artist, illustrator and celebrity who took the time to create and donate an original artwork. The continued success of this campaign wouldn’t be possible without you all! Another huge thank you goes out to everybody who purchased a doodle this year! I hope that you love your new artworks, and would love to see any photos of them on display 💜. National Doodle Day will return in September 2025, with some exciting things already in the works for the 21st anniversary!

Our health improvement team were delighted to attend the The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) awards last week, although the team did not win, we are very proud to have been nominated and had such a lovely evening. We were shortlisted for our work making preconception and maternity care safer for people with epilepsy. Congratulation to the other nominees and winners.
