About us
ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology) is dedicated to promoting and advancing the science, knowledge and practice of coloproctology in Europe. Our work focuses on: • Training, standards and accreditation - working closely with the UEMS Division of Coloproctology • Scientific meetings - high quality multi-disciplinary clinical events • Member services - including web-based networking and support to national chapters We are a not-for-profit membership organisation, with an elected Council and Board of Trustees. ESCP was formed in 2005 from a merger of EACP (European Association of Coloproctology) and ECCP (European Council of Coloproctology). It is registered in Scotland under the UK Companies Act 1985, as a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, and not having a share capital.

Here’s a look back at some of the key activities that have defined this year: ✨ Workshops & Training Initiatives: • OASIS: Comprehensive training focused on optimising colorectal care • Anal Fistula Workshop: Engaging & in-depth sessions on anal fistual management • ESCP/ESGAR Radiology for Surgeons: Bridging the gap between surgical practice and radiology • EBSQ Prep: Empowering surgeons with the tools to excel in the European Board of Surgery Qualification exams 🌟 Special Opportunities: We are thrilled to have provided 50 students with complimentary registration at #ESCP24 🚀 Regional Masterclasses Expansion: Our Regional Masterclasses continued to grow - we hosted successful events in Salzburg, Austria, and Tapolca, Hungary, enriching the professional development of surgeons. 🛫 International Fellowships & Collaborations: • JSCP Travelling Fellowship (Japan): Providing 1-2 week placements for educational exchange • KSCP Travelling Fellowship (Korea): Continuing our commitment to fostering international ties • ASCRS Travelling Fellowship: Awarded to the winner of the Twelve Best Abstracts at #ESCP24 🦾 Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery: Our Robotic Training Programme saw significant expansion: • Advanced Colorectal #RoboticSurgery Workshop • CRS Robotic Novice Workshop • Minimal Invasive CME Programme • IPAA and Continent Ileostomy Workshop 🔴 Webinars and Virtual Operating Room: 2024 also witnessed innovative virtual educational experiences: • Faecal Incontinence and Obstructed Defecation • Robotic Surgery • Microsatellite Instability • Rectopexy Trans-perineal Surgeries for Pelvic Floor Disorders (including a second Virtual Operating Room) 👨⚕️ Mentors Sans Frontières: This program has been developed to inspire the next generation of #ColorectalSpecialists. Senior trainees and junior consultants from around the world are engaged in a 2-year journey, visiting 8 centres in 7 countries to expand their knowledge in cancer management, IBD, pelvic floor disorders & proctology. 📅 EBSQ Examination: The 2025 #EBSQ exam is fast approaching! On March 22, 2025, we will meet in Barcelona, Spain! We’re incredibly proud of the impact made this year and excited to continue driving educational excellence in #ColorectalSurgery.
