As we commence 2025, we are excited to announce some great news about our A Tree for a Graduate program! This initiative has now successfully resulted in the planting of 2,002 trees and offsetting 1,801.08 metric tons of CO2 emissions 🍃 Our partnership with Evertreen has been instrumental in achieving this. Together, we are not just working towards environmental goals; we are also promoting sustainable business practices that benefit both our community and the planet. 🌱We're proud to be part of a global movement toward a greener, more sustainable world, one tree at a time. Through our partnership with Evertreen, we’ve launched the ALHI Forest project, which supports reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and the growth of local farming jobs in impoverished communities. Since November 2022, thanks to the support of our Members and Clients, we've planted 9,489 trees, helping to offset 8,285.10 tons of CO2 and reforest areas in 8 countries creating 1,186 working hours for local communities. This time last year, we announced our New Year’s resolution to become a #carbonneutral organisation! In order to achieve this, we partnered with Evertreen to neutralise the carbon footprint generated by our programs. With Evertreen, we have been investing in reforestation projects in Nepal, Kenya and Madagascar, supporting the local communities in the area, generating employment and offsetting our carbon emissions. Alongside this, students on our programs have been taking #climateaction into their own hands by participating in tree-planting activities across our global community. With 2024 now coming to an end, the results are in: We calculated that 6732.7 tons of CO2 were emitted due to students travelling as part of our programs. Through our partnership with Evertreen, 28,000 trees have been planted, which equals 9569 tons of CO2 being offset. But, it doesn’t stop there… Through their hard work, commitment and passion towards creating positive change, global citizens across our 2024 programs have helped us to plant over 19,000 trees on top of this! We wanted to take this moment to thank everyone who joined is in Panama this year, as here alone, 15,606 trees were planted (wow!) In total, over 47,000 trees have been planted this year, which means Challenges Abroad is not only carbon neutral, but net-positive going into 2025.
