This year, we began an exciting partnership with Culturedale to commission artist residencies across Calderdale as part of the Year of Culture. The first residency took place at Ogden Water Nature Reserve, a venue that was highly popular among applicants. Sally Barker was selected as the artist in residence, a perfect match for Ogden Water, which holds a special place in her heart. Her practice, deeply rooted in nature, flourished at this site. From discovering natural clay deposits to casting Razor Bootlaces using alginate, Sally created a compelling body of work exploring hidden and unseen spaces in the landscape.
