🎉 All UK schools offered free cyber service to protect against online threats 📢 Really excited that we are expanding the eligibility criteria for our (free) Protective DNS service, part of the National Cyber Security Centre's Active Cyber Defence services, to now cover all UK schools. 🏫 All educational organisations can sign up for ‘PDNS for Schools’ by asking their DNS provider to register for PDNS through MyNCSC This expansion of the service follows our recent successful transition of millions of users to our new iteration of PDNS, launched with our partner Cloudflare in collaboration with Accenture, and builds on the initial roll-out to educational settings in October last year. PDNS prevents access to domains known to be malicious, by simply not resolving them. Preventing access to malware, ransomware, phishing attacks, viruses, malicious sites and spyware at source makes the network more secure, and will hopefully have a significant impact in the schools who utilise it. Recent data published by Ofqual showed that 34% of schools and colleges in England experienced a cyber incident during the last academic year. This can cause real impact: 20% could not recover immediately, with 4% taking more than half a term to recover, and 9% of headteachers said the attack was critically damaging. Well done to the teams across NCSC who have worked hard to bring this service to the whole sector.

2151 days. What were you doing 2151 days ago? (that's the 27th November 2018, to save you getting the calculator out) I was meeting with the IT manager from a MAC. At that time, they were 3 primaries and 1 Secondary. The meeting went really well, though I wasn't awarded the contract I went looking for. However they told me to stay in touch, liked the ideas we had and couldn't really fault the product. (They just picked a different one at the time, and that's fine). So, I stayed in touch, kept up to date with product developments and made sure our service was something people would freely recommend. Recently, the perseverance paid off and we became one of their suppliers. We provide the safeguarding monitoring service, fully managed by Securus Software Ltd, keeping children safe in all their schools (now 9 sites, with more lined up) Today they confirmed we have been awarded a connectivity contract, providing Exa (Exa Networks Limited) along with Surf Protect filtering services. It's been a journey, getting a little more excited every time the IT manager would check my pod on trumpet 🎺 which is fantastic way to communicate clearly about the benefits we can deliver and keep all queries & answers in one place (rather than across a thousand seperate emails) 365 Computing continues to grow. 😄 Wonder where we'll be in 2151 days from now?
