We are on a mission for equity and lived experience leadership in the UK migration and refugee sector through equitable employment. We provide practical job application support for refugees and migrants who are aspiring to become leaders in the refugee and migration charitable sector in the UK. We believe that people with lived experience of the UK immigration and asylum system have the best insights to lead conversations, service design, campaigns, policy initiatives, and the charitable sector should work more ‘with’ people and less ‘for’ and ‘to’ people who are refugees and migrants. Providing practical employment support and involving people with lived experience in the workforce is an essential step to achieving this goal. Our way of working is three-fold: 1- We provide independent support to experts by experience of the UK immigration system (refugees and migrants) for their job applications to the migrant and refugee support charities that are members of our network. 2- We provide guidance for member organisations to create more inclusive and equitable recruitment processes, and directly support experts by experience applicants (refugees and migrants) in their applications to member organisations. 3- We encourage staff working in member organisations and other individuals working in the UK migrant and refugee charities to become a volunteer and offer their personal capacity to review job applications of EbEs (refugees and migrants).

The Bristol Refugee and Asylum Seeker Partnership (BRASP) is looking for an Assistant to start as soon as possible. BRASP is an innovative partnership of 15 Bristol organisations working together to coordinate services and responses, champion lived experience leadership, campaign on key issues and share resources, knowledge and expertise. The partnership’s vision is that all refugees and asylum seekers enjoy healthy and fulfilling lives in Bristol, have a voice and their needs are met by an effective, unified and sustainable sector. This is a new role working with the BRASP Development Manager to support the partnership administratively, with a focus on improving lived experience leadership in the sector and supporting partners to make the most of the new comprehensive service mapping website for the region.
