Extel was proud to support Middle East Investor Relations Association’s excellent two-day conference with Amani Korayeim forming part of the panel on ‘Integrating Governance and IR’. The Afternoon Panel discussion, featured Eline Hilal (Director Investor Relations & Board Secretary - Aluminium Bahrain) and Marc Hammoud (VP – Head of Investor Relations, Abu Dhabi Ports Group). This was an insightful discussion, and some of the notable quotes from the panel can be found below: Introduction & Remarks: Andrew Tarbuck - Chairman, MEIRA “Advocating strong corporate governance is a key pillar to MEIRA’s mission but, as a not-for-profit association, we also have to adopt and live the corporate governance principles that we promote so passionately. We are future-proofing MEIRA through enhancing our own corporate governance architecture, with thanks to the GCCBDI.” Eline Hilal: “As both IRO and Board Secretary at Alba (Aluminium Bahrain), I've witnessed first-hand how effective governance and transparent communication are the bedrock of stakeholder trust. Governance sets the tone at the top, while IR amplifies that message to the market. When aligned, they create a virtuous cycle of transparency, accountability, and stakeholder trust.” Marc Hammoud: “I am a strong believer that two-way communications better enhance governance. The IRO is the link between the market and the listed company. Strong corporate governance leads to heightened affinity and trust, which are essential to strengthen the bonds with investors and other stakeholders. The convergence of investor relations and corporate governance has become undisputable.” John Gollifer: “Governance and investor relations are inextricably linked in that you cannot think of governance without due consideration of key stakeholders and their expectations. Successful IROs and Board Secretaries proudly and rightly champion governance.” Amani Korayeim: "In a rapidly evolving market, Investor Relations is transforming from a basic function into a strategic partner in corporate governance. The rise of more experienced IR professionals in the region is prompting boards to value direct engagement with IR to better understand market sentiment and turn insights into proactive strategies.” #investorrelations #MEIRA #corporategovernance

If 2023 was a rollercoaster year for the global fixed-income markets, 2024 has been “a story of benign credit vol versus an episodic period of high rates vol,” according to Stephen Dulake, co-head of global fundamental research at J.P. Morgan. Extel has just released the results of the Global Fixed Income Research Team 2024 survey. Take a look of at the results and accompanying editorial by Alexandra DeLuca. Jamie made Extel's Hall of Fame a couple of years ago after 10 years as a #1 analyst in Airlines. We took the opportunity to get to know him better. A great read if you missed it https://lnkd.in/ez--43gt
If you follow the aviation industry, you’ll recognize the name of Extel’s number one stock picker at JPMorganChase for 2024! I’ve known Jamie Baker for years—I tried to hire him back in the late '90s before he went to Wall Street. While we don’t always agree, we sometimes do (especially this year with his United predictions 👍). I always enjoy his sharp insights and entertaining writing. Congratulations to Jamie on a well-deserved recognition and a fantastic year! 🏆
