Fight for Peace
Civic and Social Organizations
Combining boxing and martial arts with personal development to support young people to reach their full potential
About us
Fight for Peace is global organisation focused on supporting young people to reach their full potential, and promoting peace in our communities. Our work has three strategic focuses: We work directly with young people at our Academies, developing their potential through integrated programmes of support and inclusion using our Five Pillars model. Via our Alliance, we exchange skills, knowledge and support with community-based partners around the world to strengthen our and their youth-focused programmes And we bring together diverse partners, services and organisations collaborating on a collective impact methodology to prevent violence and support young people in focus communities. Through our Academies, Alliance and Collectives, we are present in 17 countries worldwide. We have trained over 120 youth focused organisations in our methodology to date and since 2000 have reached over 250,000 young people. Please see our website (fightforpeace.net) for further information on our work. As a youth-led organisation, children's rights play a central role in defining our approach at Fight for Peace, influencing decision making and strategic direction at all levels. This week we participated in a thought-provoking workshop about the rights of children in sport. Hosted by Play Their Way and UNICEF UK at the Horizon Leeds not-for-profit conference venue in the heart of Leeds, the event covered a breadth of topics and how this vital issue informs every aspect of our work. The five-hour workshop was a fantastic opportunity to meet other leading figures and organisations in youth sport and participate in wide-ranging discussions on how to apply children's rights in a sporting context. A big thank you to Play Their Way and UNICEF UK for putting on such an amazing event 🙏
