Global Campaigns Marketing Specialist at Akeneo | PXM | Sustainability

Yesterday I had the privilege of volunteering with FoodCycle, a wonderful charitable organisation that transforms surplus food donated by supermarkets, shops, and food banks into vegetarian meals for communities across London. Their vision is to make food poverty, loneliness, and food waste a thing of the past and create a more sustainable and connected society. As someone passionate about cooking and baking, I wanted to combine my love for food with the opportunity to give back. I spent the afternoon preparing meals with the other volunteers in Marylebone. This initiative occurs every Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church, with two volunteer teams: one focused on cooking and the other on hosting. One of the great perks at Akeneo: The Product Experience Company is the company’s commitment to giving employees two volunteering days per year, encouraging a strong culture of giving back. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to contribute to their community. 🤝🥰 #Volunteer #Volunteering #Community #ReduceWaste #FoodCycle

A big thank you to Dalston's Soda Co. for supporting FoodCycle through their Soulful Sale! 🌟   When you shop the sale (20% off), for every order over £60 Dalston’s Soda will make a donation to FoodCycle - the equivalent of a nutritious cooked meal.   Check out the sale here which runs until the 2nd December: https://lnkd.in/eqgXCGWz   We also loved welcoming members of the team to volunteer at our Plaistow community meal recently, where they whipped up a delicious feast for our guests using surplus food. 🤩 🥕 🍎 🥦   Thank you partnering with us to help tackle food waste, food poverty and social isolation in communities.    (Photos courtesy of Paulina King via. We were so thrilled to host a volunteer team from Royal Bank of Canada at FoodCycle Woolwich this month! Alongside local volunteers, the RBC team rolled up their sleeves and cooked up a nourishing three-course meal of potato and leek soup, carrot and bean curry, and banana cake with custard, serving 70 people in the local community.   Alongside volunteering, we will also be receiving a generous £1,500 donation from RBC. Thank you so much for your support! 🍁

❤️ 100 Community Meals ❤️ Last week, we celebrated something truly special: the opening of our 100th FoodCycle project in Reading That’s 100 communities where people come together for more than just food. It’s a warm seat at the table, a compassionate ear, a space to share stories, and the comfort of endless cups of tea. We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible staff and volunteers who made this possible. Week-in week-out, they show up for the people in their communities who need us most. Here's to many more community meals 👏

This #WorldKindnessDay, we want to remind you that FoodCycle is so much more than the food we serve—it’s about connection, compassion, and community. We’re building communities, sharing laughter, and creating a welcoming space where everyone belongs. When a guest walks through our doors, we may not know their story, but our volunteers welcome each person with open arms, treating everyone with warmth, kindness, and respect. Thanks to the generosity of our volunteers, people can find more than a meal here—they find community. Join us today ❤️ https://lnkd.in/es2XKmi6 #FoodCycle
