About us

Foundation for Future London is an independent charity created to connect communities, the new East Bank and its globally renowned arts, innovation and cultural partners to ensure East Bank is London’s must-visit destination and becomes a resilient, thriving, world-class neighbourhood of local and global significance. We're fundraising to expand grant-making opportunities for East Bank communities and partners and facilitating placemaking, to support local places, learning, training and employment through arts, education, culture and innovation. Our vision is for a vibrant and inclusive creative East Bank, creating authentic engagement with local people of East London in the boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. We are a part of the East Bank partnership, connecting local communities to the new centre of culture, education, innovation and growth being built on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. We are also partners with Culture Mile and its organisations. Our work is supported by East Bank’s Founding Partner and Official Sponsor, Westfield Stratford City, and City of London.

  • Three print artworks created by young Londoners in response to the climate crisis are currently being displayed on Picadilly Lights, selected from 1,600 young artists from 31 schools, as part of this year’s Young London Print Prize. The Foundation for Future London is pleased to have supported the project again through our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund. “Arts education plays a massive role in transforming children and young people’s life chances. That’s why funding from our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, in partnership with Westfield Stratford City, supports projects like the Young London Print Prize. It provides an inclusive, creative, youth-led programme for young East Londoners to have a voice about the climate emergency and illustrates why arts education needs to be at the heart of our national curriculum,” said Sarah Nelson, CEO, Foundation for Future London. The three winners are: Pema Sherpa from Foxfield Primary School; Muiz Mustafa from Shepherds Bush; and Emma Tasnim from Whitechapel. Their work will be exhibited alongside Britain’s best loved contemporary artists, including Damien Hirst, Yinka Ilori, and Michael Craig-Martin, at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair from 21 – 24 November.
