The Frugal Bottle, the world’s first commercially available paper bottle for wines and spirits, is about to become even more sustainable and recyclable by moving to a mono material polyethylene pouch. Our Frugal Bottle, which was launched in 2020, is made from 94% recycled paperboard and a metallised PET (MET PET) pouch to hold the liquid, with a carbon footprint 84% lower than a glass bottle. Replacing the MET PET pouch with a mono material polyethylene pouch will see much higher rates of recycling. Frugalpac CEO Malcolm Waugh said: “Frugalpac constantly strives to improve the sustainability of all its paper-based products. That is why with the advances in pouch technology in the four years since the Frugal Bottle launched, we have committed to moving to a mono-material pouches that is much easier to recycle. “The beauty of the Frugal Bottle design is that as pouches become even more sustainable and recyclable in years to come, we can easily upgrade to them. The Frugal Bottle is future-proofed for improvements in sustainability and recyclability.” Read more here and contact us at hello@frugalpac.com. https://lnkd.in/e5HqXnnD #paperbottle #monomaterial #sustainability

About us
Frugalpac is a British sustainable packaging company with a global mission to decarbonise the food and drinks industry. We create and supply recycled paper-based products with the lowest carbon footprint that can be recycled again. From our Ipswich innovation centre, we produce Frugal Bottles - the world's first commercially available paper bottle for wine, spirits and olive oils - and the assembly machines that make them ("FBAM-1"). Each FBAM-1 or Frugal Bottle Assembly Machine can produce 2.5m paper bottles a year and offers a great opportunity for contract fillers, packaging companies and innovative wineries to increase the value of their products and services. The Frugal Bottle is made from 94% recycled paperboard, has a carbon footprint 84% lower than a glass bottle and contains an easily separable food grade pouch to hold the liquid. Find them on shelves around the world including Aldi UK, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Whole Foods, Systembolaget, LCBO, Auchan, Carrefour and World Duty Free.
