🎉 Exciting news! 🎉 We're proud to announce that we have received grant funding from the Australian Government through the Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) – Renewables and Low Emissions Round. Building on our 100% recycled PET eco-flat bottle, already designed for commercial wines, we’re now embarking on a journey to deliver a more sustainable solution that meets consumer expectations for premium wine quality. 🌏 We’re motivated to be supported by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources and Wine Australia as we drive innovation in sustainable wine packaging. 🍷 Santiago Navarro, CEO & Founder of Packamama, said: “We are excited to lead the way in transforming the wine industry’s approach to packaging. Bulk wine is emerging as a pivotal player in the wine industry’s move toward net-zero emissions. At Packamama, we’re committed to challenging outdated perceptions by offering sustainable yet aesthetically appealing solutions. “I believe in what I call ‘the Tesla approach’ to sustainable products. They need to be so appealing, cool and fun that they foster a sense of community and even a cult-like following. We’re excited to share our CEO Santiago Navarro's recent interview with Lucy Britner in Drinks Retailing. The interview discusses our mission to innovate in wine packaging for the 21st century. 🍷 ♻️ Our flat-pack, lightweight recycled PET bottles aim to slash emissions, reduce costs, and optimise space – while keeping the wine industry's sustainability goals at the forefront. Some key takeaways: 👉 Traditional round glass bottles contribute significantly to emissions. It’s time to rethink what’s best for the wine industry and our planet. 👉 Just as the UK has closed its last coal-fired power station, signalling the end of outdated, high-emission technology, we believe it’s time to move beyond inefficient glass bottles for commercial wines that don’t require ageing. 👉 Significant drops in production across key regions like France (18%) and Italy (23%) highlight the urgency of adopting sustainable practices to safeguard the industry's future.
