Excellent progress is being made on Gainsborough’s exciting state-of-the-art Savoy cinema!🎬📽️ Gelder Group; which won the contract to build the new complex overlooking the Market Place in the town centre, started work on site back in February. The eagerly anticipated development will provide filmgoers with a four-screen cinema, three retail units and a restaurant. Gelder Group’s site manager Craig Elston said: “The foundations for the cinema and retail/restaurant units are now in place and the steel framework for the cinema is finished. We have just moved on to erecting the steel framework for the three three-storey units, two of which will overlook the Market Place." We are thrilled to announce that Savoy Cinemas Ltd has acquired the seven-screen multiplex formerly known as Empire Cinema in Catterick Garrison! After over a year of closure, we are eager to bring the magic of the movies back to the area. In just a few weeks, we plan to reopen just in time for some highly anticipated blockbusters, including Beetlejuice Sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, Paddington in Peru, Gladiator 2, Wicked, and Moana 2. Four screens will initially open in their former configuration, while three will undergo luxurious renovations featuring rocker seats, faux leather electric recliners, and double sofas. We're also installing the latest laser projection technology for sharper images and brighter, more vibrant visuals. Stay tuned
