Well, something special is around the corner from Simovation Interactive Technologies and here is a sneak preview. Same but very different, including a few up and coming announcements. Our blended learning interactive simulation suite (BLISs) technology solution from Gener8 Spaces is going from strength to strength in Australia and New Zealand and globally. We will be posting shortly about some new partnerships and BLISs office space too! In partnership with Gener8 Spaces, we are looking to take BLISs to new heights in 2025. After 2 years, and a lot of learning and support from Graham Chadwick and the #gener8 team, I am happy to say that the first iteration of my immersive wound care escape room was a success! The adult nursing students engaged with it really well, quickly becoming proficient in using the immersive suite and navigating the escape room. It was great to see the enthusiasm the students had towards the escape room and the feedback received was excellent. The students particularly enjoyed the gamification aspect of the escape room, describing it as ‘a new and fun way of learning’. Great session last week with the ACP MSc - Using Gener8-Healthcare BLIS screen we were able to simulate several different scenarios, which focused on decision making & leadership skills. Our final scenario involved all the students, where a major fire had occurred at the local industrial site - A 'task focus' was created from among the group to tactical 4 key areas, e.g. 'How would you manage the triage protocol?' - The 4 groups had time to discuss before one of them had to present they're response the wider group - We did this scanning a QR code link to Slido, we then present each groups findings on the immersive walls, from within the initial scenario. In the final scenario the Immersive Walls where used to immerse the group by showing evocative images of what the emergency may look & sound like. Overall, the students seem to enjoy the experience and there are plans on doing more sessions like this in the future. Katherine Boagey (Scenario lecturer, Teesside University) out did herself and conducted the session excellently. Bringing Immersive Learning to Life 🚀 Last Friday, we had an incredible visit to Walsall Manor Hospital, where Clinical Lecturer Lydia Phillips from the University of Wolverhampton was capturing new DIGI SIM content in action! 🎥 They went beyond just 360° filming – strapping on a GoPro harness to create an immersive POV experience for students. This means students can step directly into real-world scenarios like never before! 👏 Excited to see once it has been built and what it will look like on their immersive walls!
