On Monday, we welcomed an exclusive list of AV partners to Google London for the launch of #COLA: Create On-demand, Launch Anywhere. COLA mixes: - The security, manageability and reliability of #ChromeOS - Sodaclick's easy-to-use yet powerful digital signage CRM - Enterprise-grade displays from ViewSonic - Getech's white glove service wrap and deployment It's fair to say that excitement was bubbling around this new offering, providing a turnkey solution to businesses from small brick-and-mortar retailers looking to modernise their promotional messaging to large corporates trying to engage frontline workers. Improving citizen access to digital services in the face of tight budgets is a storm that local authorities have been weathering for a while. Beaten down further by a forced IT refresh due to Windows 10 going end-of-life next year, projects that address digital exclusion in our communities need a lifeline. As an IT distributor, thousands of laptops go through our doors every year into schools, universities, businesses and charities across the UK and Ireland. With Windows 10 going end-of-life in less than a year, we thought it would be a great opportunity to use ChromeOS Flex to rejuvenate some of our stock to serve our local community. Lee Mills and James Park recently visited Jane Simpson, CEO of Anglia Care Trust to drop off the first batch of freshly-Flexed Lenovo ThinkPads. These are going to be shared with survivors of domestic abuse in supported accommodation to help them get back online, access services that aid their recovery and overcome the grip of digital isolation – Something many of us take for granted. We’re so happy to be able to support important projects like this around our home county of Suffolk. We are proud to support the next generation of innovators! 🎓💻 Last month, Getech Higher Education Solutions had the pleasure of visiting Aston University to distribute 700 Lenovo laptops to their first-year students. We believe that providing students with the necessary tools is crucial for their academic success and future endeavours. We were thrilled to see the excitement and gratitude on the students' faces as they received their new laptops.
