In the spirit of last week’s 15th anniversary celebrations, we’re sharing this brilliant video by 10% Pledger Michael Dello-Iacovo, PhD: Finding Purpose by Living on $29k USD & Giving Away the Rest. Watch it for some real inspiration on how fulfilling (and easily manageable) it can feel to do good. Michael dives into the details of how he lives comfortably and truly happily while donating all of his income above the threshold he set for himself—to charities that make a real impact. [English below] 💵 Depuis que j’ai pris l'engagement "10% Pledge🔸" de Giving What We Can en 2019, j’ai consacré au moins 10 % de mes revenus à des dons chaque année. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ebiSzhqY --- 💵 Since I took the "10% Pledge🔸" from Giving What We Can in 2019, I’ve donated at least 10% of my income every year. Over the years, I’ve supported The Good Food Institute, Malaria Consortium, Fish Welfare Initiative, and many other organizations. 📌 What I’ve found most rewarding about this commitment is seeing the tangible impact my money can have on these highly effective NGOs. ❓ Why am I sharing this? Because there’s good reason to believe that the "normative effect" of behaviors like giving, where more and more people contribute and it becomes a societal norm, relies on examples like this one. 🌟 I’m excited that Giving What We Can is nearing 10,000 commitments to give 10%, and I can only encourage you to take the pledge too if you can! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ebiSzhqY

“Some of my poorest friends have taught me a thing or two about generosity, by sharing a meal or giving to a beggar. If they can give self-sacrificially, why shouldn’t those of us who can give at very little cost to ourselves do so?” As we continue to share your pledge stories for anniversary week, we hear from Tom Delaney – an Australian growing up (and still living today) in an informal settlement in North India – about his decision to take the 10% Pledge. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us, Tom! https://lnkd.in/gUseMygN
