What a great start to the week! We’re pleased to have been invited to visit the launch of Persimmon Homes new Innovation Centre Trial House at Space4's Training Hub in Birmingham. As one of the supporting supplier partners, we provided a mix of our products specified for the show home, including external and internal wall membranes, a pitched roofing underlay as well as ridge ventilation. The home features a variety of current and new technologies in order to provide a step forward in energy efficiency with a focus on offsite construction in Space 4’s factory, ensuring high pre-manufactured value (PMV). We have to say it was a relief to get out of the cold to take a look around in the warmth of the new home! Persimmon Homes will be using the facility for Training and Development for not only their own staff but also subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers and we wish them every success with this new house type. It is fantastic to see our membranes in use and also that we’ve been recognised on their supplier wall on the side of the Innovation Centre. In attendance was Nick Beswick and John Mellor and we would like to offer our thanks to David Griffin, Simon Ratcliffe and the Persimmon team for their hospitality on the day. Why is a reflective membrane essential for timber frame? Welcome to 2025 and we hope everyone had a great break over Christmas and the New Year. To kick things off this year we have put together one of our favourite videos, demonstrating our commitment to training the next generation.   A cavity tray training session was held late last year with a team of apprentice bricklayers at NHBC's Training Hub in Tamworth. Our Training Manager Andy Mathers put the team through their paces, starting with some classroom theory about the importance of using cavity trays. He then took them through a practical exercise of installing some Glidevale Protect stepped, leaded cavity trays within a wall rig, involving a variety of our products, including corner catchment, abutment and apex trays. Andy highlighted the key benefits of our trays ranging from integral pitch marks and bed weeps, plus a fleximouth mortar barrier for easy installation of flashing. It was great to see a very engaged audience showing interest, asking lots of questions as well as getting involved installing the trays and taking pride in their work.   Thanks to Leigh Jakeman for his hospitality on the day and his team of apprentices who we hope found value in our visit. 🎄 A heartwarming story for you as we reach the end of the working year. Last week, our colleagues Courtney Lester and Corey Wilkes at our Merthyr Tydfil site in South Wales visited the Prince Charles Hospital to donate three sacks full of toys to the Turtle ward in the Paediatric Unit.   As a business we have recently launched our community fund and 2025 will also see the introduction of volunteer days for staff – all part of new initiatives to support our local communities. For the community fund, our staff were encouraged to nominate three charities per site to receive a donation. This gift to the hospital was one of the first uses of the fund. We think you'll agree it is a worthy beneficiary as lots of these children will be in hospital over the festive period and we hope these gifts will make a difference - not just to them but also to show the dedicated nursing care staff that the community appreciates their hard work. A look back at 2024: Strengthening our range of hidden protectors

With the end of the year fast approaching, we wanted to share our highlights over the past 12 months. From product launches, including Protect FrameSafe FR, our new A2 fire rated wall membrane, to our two sites achieving ISO 50001 accreditation and us becoming a member of the NFRC, it’s certainly been a busy year! Added to this, we’ve supported our customers and specifiers with a range of technical support tools, showcased our solutions at a host of events across the UK and Ireland and helped to train the next generation of tradespeople at different colleges and the NHBC’s Training Hubs.
