Significant progress continues on the OW Ocean Winds Moray West Offshore Wind Farm at the Port of Nigg, as we approach the last stages of pre-assembly and marshalling. Siemens Gamesa has moved onto the final phase of handling the turbine components, bringing us closer to project completion. Global Energy Group is excited to welcome three newly qualified fabrication apprentices into our core workforce. After completing a 16-week Welding & Fabrication SVQ course at the Nigg Skills Academy , Prentice Waldie, Andrew Loudin, and Euan Barr are now contributing their skills as fabrication apprentices to key projects at the Port of Nigg. Prentice and Andrew are working on the fabrication of towheads on behalf of Subsea7 as part of our support for the Aker BP ASA-operated Yggdrasil Field Development. Euan has joined our Site Services division, specialising in the maintenance and enhancement of hydro assets. Their integration into our core workforce is a testament to their dedication and the support of their mentors. Looking ahead, the Fabrication division will soon welcome three more welding apprentices from the Nigg Skills Academy, who are in the final stages of their training. Their arrival will further strengthen Global Energy Group’s workforce and reinforce its dedication to developing skilled professionals for the energy industry’s future.
