Sobre nosotros

Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Based on our belief that offshore wind energy is an essential part of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world. When EDP and ENGIE combined their offshore wind assets and project pipeline to create OW in 2019, the company had a total of 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development; OW has been adding rapidly to that portfolio and is now on a trajectory to reach the 2025 target of 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation, or construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development. In 2024, OW’s offshore wind gross capacity already operating, contracted or with grid connection rights granted reaches more than 18 GW. OW, headquartered in Madrid, is currently present in 8 countries, and primarily targets markets in Europe, the United-States, selected parts of Asia and Brazil. Today OW has a global presence, integrating diverse people all over the world. We value and promote this diversity as a factor creating value and innovation. We recognize that multiplying differences is to go further, to bring together points of view and ways of seeing the world, to integrate all aspects, to be consciously inclusive, particularly by means of profiles, paths and experiences that bring value and enable us to do what we have to do best. We foster diversity and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities as an employer, which we also encourage in our suppliers. LET’S COWRITE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY TOGETHER!

  • We are excited to share that, our LES EOLIENNES FLOTTANTES DU GOLFE DU LION (EFGL) Project, in collaboration Banque des Territoires, has chosen Euroports’ Port-La Nouvelle as the site for its maintenance base—a first for this dynamic port. EFGL’s floating wind turbines —among the most powerful ever installed on floating platforms— are set to deliver enough renewable power to light up the lives of over 50,000 coastal residents. 📍 Why Port-La Nouvelle? ✅ A growing hub for the energy transition in the Mediterranean ✅ A strategic location for floating wind development ✅ A boost in long-term local job creation and economic development With a 20-year service life ahead, join us on this journey to power a greener tomorrow! 🌱🌍   #ProudtobeOW #EnergyTransition

🌊 What is the potential for #OffshoreWind in the Mediterranean region?🌬️   The Mediterranean region stands out as a prime example of opportunity for offshore wind development. Thanks to its sea depth, floating technology enables countries like Spain to embrace offshore wind, while allowing France to expand its potential across all national coasts.   With consistent wind speeds, mild sea conditions, and deep waters, the region provides ideal conditions for floating wind technology. The strategic role of ports further boosts this potential, as they serve as essential hubs for assembly and maintenance—key components for advancing these projects. Additionally, the proximity to densely populated coastal areas support the growing demand for clean energy while facilitating seamless grid interconnection, reinforcing the region’s promise as a leader in renewable energy development.   At OW Ocean Winds, we are proud to be at the forefront of #RenewableEnergy with projects like LES EOLIENNES FLOTTANTES DU GOLFE DU LION (EFGL) and the recently awarded Eoliennes Flottantes d’Occitanie (EFLO).   Discover the full interview with Bautista Rodríguez Sánchez, COO at Ocean Winds, featured by INFOENERGETICS—where you’ll learn how Ocean Winds is driving the energy transition. 🌱💼 https://lnkd.in/dgpjjiGy #ProudtobeOW

#PhotosOfTheDay 📣 | This week-end, our French project Îles d’Yeu & Noirmoutier welcomed the arrival of the first nacelles for its turbines via cargo ship in Saint-Nazaire! 🏗️   We closed 2024 with the arrival of the first Siemens Gamesa blades, fabricated in Le Havre, and now, we’re starting 2025 strong with these critical components—another major milestone for our offshore wind project, currently under construction.   With 61 turbines and a total capacity of almost 500 MW, this wind farm will provide electricity to almost 800,000 people—that’s more than the population of the entire Vendée region! 🔋   A big thank you to all the teams working hard to make this project a cornerstone of #France's energy transition! 👏 📸 EMYN © P.
